With a hobby like Gunpla, it's very easy to amass a mega collection of kits. You buy and buy and not realize how big your backlog and collection is until it's super big. It's why every now and then I 'purge' some of my kits by selling them online and trading. Lately I've been drastically cutting back on buying new kits. The worry of having to pack up your collection for moving is one of the most stressful things a Gunpla has to deal with.

I started in November last year and have never stopped buying since. Every month there's at least two new kits that come in the mail. I realise now that I've been going at it too fast. I'm cutting back for now and trying not to act on impulse anymore since most of my purchase was made on it. So far I have about 27 kits of various grades, which probably isn't a lot in hindsight for longtime builders but I think getting that many kits in a span of a few months is too much.

Funnily enough, it's the opposite around with me. Started with Gunpla and now my friends try to get me into Warhammer. They even gave me entire army. And guess which fraction? Since they know I like giant robots, they gave me an T'au army...now I have even more plastic to paint 🙈 And yes, please do more of those videos. It's a refreshing spin on your usual content and shows a different side of the hobby.

The moving and organizing tips were great! I'm going to be moving early next year and by then ill have a sizable collection. Also atm my 1/100 are taking over my 1/144 kits so i have to store them soon due to limited space. A part 2 would be great to see. Also that MG Sazabi Ver Ka review I just got that kit and is next to be built, I'll be interesting to hear your thoughts on that kit!

Saw another youtuber who recycles his boxes, but puts his manuals in a laminated binder kinda like people that collect baseball/pokemon/yu-gi-oh cards. hey mecha I honestly see myself getting to the point your at I started gunpla this year and I'm already 23 kits deep two pgs red astray and rx unleased,ver ka sazabi,hi nu,thunderbolt,sinanju stein,wing zero custom,zeta,a bunch of master grades including hazel ousla and the mgex strike freedom and 00 raiser real grade epyon,real grade nu gundam,real grade mk II titans and real grade perfectibility unicorn and even a 1/20 scope dog full metal spec edition which is absolutely one of the funnest best kits ive ever built with some really unique gimmicks and i suggest you build it if you ever get a chance.....and I love them all and am really trying to build them all....but watching you scares me have you maybe ever thought of donating some of these to those who can't afford gunpla like us? I'm sure you'd make someone's entire year instead of them rotting away in boxes

Maybe I'm cptn Obvious here but I think you need an Excel Sheet to inventory everything you have(maybe with smartphone pictures of the boxart?) and make a list of project to do :) Also nice boxarts works nice with the clip frames that you can hang on the wall :)

I keep my manuals with the ziplocks i keep all the accessories and extra parts in, makes it a lot easier to know what goes with what and doesn't risk the sharpie rubbing off

I assume you put the runners in the recycling as well since you reuse the MG boxes. Having difficulty storing those now since I don't throw away runners thinking that I might use them in future for scratch building or repairing some broken parts. Runners are piling up now since my recent kits are now in the 1/100 scale

Just sell your old kits. Throw away your runners. Keep any extra kits in those boxes. Only display kits that you really really like. Most importantly just sell off the kits that doesn't bring you joy. And maybe invest in air purifier or your room.

I personally just store them in clear bins sorted with a label made from pieces of green tape & written on the tape by a sharpie marker sorting them by what timeline they are from (for example: one has universal Century, another has Cosmic Era / Gundam Seed & Seed Destiny, and another has Post Disater / Iron Blooded Orphans) whenever I am not using them, posing them or displaying them & I put those bins in / on a shelf that I can access easily with a ladder to put a bin in/on the shelf or pull out one of the bins & pick one or more of my Gunpla from that bin for me to pose & stuff.

I just throw out the bottom part of the box, and trim the front Keep the front art (and side descriptions). I don't recommend people actually keep the boxes let alone the runners. I learned first hand the boxes are terrible for storage. Get yourself plastic totes (preferably ones you can see through)

For the boxes, I just cut out the box art, and toss the rest. Such a waste to throw away such awesome art. Same with the manuals. If it's not a Gundam, then it's gone.

Having had to move twice in 5 years' I know how you feel. I ended up reducing a lifetime of collecting down to a 20kg duffel bag with just the absolute minimum of stuff. I sold, gave away and threw out. Sure it's painful, but once you're done, it's a huge weight gone. It's like the Japanese way of collecting, you have things for a while and then disperse them so others can continue their own collections.

If you have a chance and if you have I own a Ikea closet to organize my Nendoroid and Gunpla Display and one of the requirements is to fit the RX-78-3 Yokohama model And G-Dock in it and actually it fits The name model is Billy and the Size is like big enough to store all Gunpla Boxes but also if you want to display some it can The Model I own is a Metalic Wood and Tempered Glass model and it's name class is Billy A lot of the Gunpla I have is like one of the reviews you made and some were personal choice Just today I finished RX-93 Gundam nu RG for 18 hours
