I have a pair of these MK 1’s and love them. I recapped with decent Audyns and they are just fantastic speakers, image like crazy and love tube power. Bravo!

Hello, very nice videos. Do you ever made the 3rd part? What modifications can/should be done on the crossover? Thx
@BMRStudio Жыл бұрын
Actually, yes I have a plan to modify the crossover. The original design fundamentally perfect, but the quality of the parts just not good enough for modern music with high dynamic range and square-triangle-synth whatever type of waves. I will redesign to something better. But for start, You can replace the capacitors to some better bipolar folie caps.

I have a pair that I restored and I would like to play them with an active crossover (I removed the passive crossover) according to you what would be the best 4000hz like the originals? looking at the original crossovers I notice that the woofer is in parallel circuit. thank you i love your videos
@BMRStudio Жыл бұрын
I do not recommend to use active crossover at all, due the physical behavior and the adjusted weight of the passive membrane. Just make a new super biffy buffy crossover! Freq: We find a bit lower . 3.7 Khz, but You have to compensate the phase shift around 4-5 Khz. Looks like a flat S curve. Or just use some measure mic with your DSP....

I have the mk2’s but it sounds like the audio is only coming from the horn. Am I hooking them up wrong? 😂😭
@BMRStudio2 ай бұрын
@@Wilverine99 can be few things. Crossover, cable from the crossover to the woofer, contact terminals on the woofer, and busted woofer. Definitely need a service. Bring it to some good hand service guy.
