When I was in High School, my parents would go to the rails and protest the, "White Trains." Apparently these trains were protested enough that the DOD quit using the rails to move nuclear weapons (and maybe waste?) and went with over the road semi trucks, out of the public eye. @@nathanjplatt Thank you. I researched it and found what they use it for. Although considering some of what they provide protection for you would think something that does not stand out and bring attention to itself would be preferred since its presence could tell enemies where something they want is on what train. Unless they put it on a train that does not have anything to guard to mislead enemies so they attack the wrong train but then they would be putting civilian lives and property at risk. Maybe they should build enough to put them on all trains. I am old enough to remember when all trains had a caboose. Always loved to see them, specially when the people were sitting in the cupola.

The trauma suffered by a train driver [engineer: North America] when someone is killed due to unbelievable stupidity [certainly a 'Darwin Candidate'] lasts for a very long time. It's another form of PTSD, if you will. Those who are unable to return to work in this capacity, and are re-assigned other jobs by their employer.

I’m surprised those guilford and pan am cars are in good enough condition to be that far from New England. What was once the great Boston & Maine railroad is now a dilapidated mismanaged joke. Too bad.
