I'm sure this has been mentioned a bazillion times already but the acapella group from the Philippines is an actual acapella group called the Filharmonics. They were on the Sing-Off season 4 and are pretty popular. The Canadian group, of course, is the legendary acapella group Pentatonix who are three time Grammy winners and probably the most famous acapella group ever. I loved how they got actual acapella groups to come in and be in the movie.

I'm sure Patrons had to have mentioned, and I saw someone mentioned Home Free, but the "Canadian" group you cut from the YT reaction was Pentatonix, an actual a capella group. At the time of the movies they were pretty new, though had won the a capella singing competition The Sing-Off and had some viral YT success. At this point, though, among many other accolades they've won 3 Grammys, have a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and 2 years ago they were in the 10 top grossing world tours of the year. Their most watched music video on YT is over 750 million views (Hallelujah).
@Lady-Mara Жыл бұрын
They were NOT pretty new at time of filming! I'd been following them for years and even went to a concert, they opened for Kelly Clarkson. But they weren't new, just not as big. I feel like the Pitch Perfect movies made acapella popular and this boosted Pentatonix to even more greatness.

Elizabeth Banks' character Gail Abernathy-McKadden-Feinberg's name is a sly nod to "The Hunger Games." Banks, of course, played stylist Effie Trinket in "The Hunger Games" films, alongside Woody Harrelson as one of Katniss' mentors, Haymitch Abernathy. Many fans shipped Haymitch and Effie, so giving Banks' announcer character the last name of Abernathy was a nod to those "Hunger Games" devotees.
