I would argue it’s 2k not understanding their player base as usual. When people complained about realism in the past, it was about illogical stuff happening. Like 7 footers shooting from half court all game in 19. Or non-stop dribble cheese and ankle breakers in 18. Balancing is what the game really has always needed. Not so much realism. The game just isn’t balanced at all, and hasn’t been for years. Realistic or arcade. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I play my team. My Dr j card has 99 driving dunk 99 vert 99 speed and 99 strength with legend posterizer and 35 hof badges... And there are still plenty of times when my dunk meter doesn't even register and it takes me into a contested layup or drags me into a block ever since the "buff"

Yeah when the game first came out i could easily rise up an slam with legend rise up now the animations have gotten patched quite a bit for the standing dunk, it now forces me to use the meter its just crazy i can notice the difference with my center from when the game came out until now its just crazy

You should still be able to use the dunk meter and you should still be able to time the dunk even if your contested no one should get taken out of a dunk unless they have the speed and momentum to push u in the air if u meet them at the rim they weren’t fast enough

Agreed, i got a 96 driving dunk 6’6 sg and hes a big boy, only time I ever miss a dunk is either if its very early or very late and mind you, i release the meter when the arrows are right on top of each other and usually green. I dont think i’ve even seen a slightly late or slightly early yet

For me personally, I think 89 DD is the sweet spot for dunking. Out of 100 contested attempts, I’ve been taken out of maybe 30. My biggest issue is the very early / very late timing on my dunks. 2K definitely doesn’t want us getting posters consistently this year and I understand that from a realistic perspective but it takes away, arguably, one of the most fun aspects about a basketball game.

Yall do realize that this is all park of 2k's genius to keep yall playing year round. They intentionally dont make the game good on release date. 2k already knows it's community and knows how smart we are. We're going to figure what's good and what's not in the game and we're going to complain. Yet, we're still going to keep playing till shit hits the fan. Then, 2k is going to release the patches with their updates and fix certain thing (only enough things in the game to keep you coming back or keep you their and once they fix it 2k tries and act as if they did the community a solid. When, in reality 2k knows what we expect and should have done this since game released. Now everyone(including yourself and the entire community stoked) so now the community back playing the game. 2k knows exactly what they've been doing with these updates for years now and never giving us a solid finished product on release date. 2k already knows how they are strategically going to put out these updates throughout the year to keep the community getting excited (like a serotonin hit) when they strategically put out these updates. I wish I could talk to yall in person instead of making an attempt at trying to explain this to yall. Hope you put this out to the community cus 2k still playing their community year round by not giving us a real finished product when game releases. that very early thing could just be anchor which reduces your make plus 2 players contesting adding both of their interiors. been like that every year. anchor lowers your chances of making it. yeah you timed it perfect but the game has always been by chance in the paint when it comes to anchor and tells you very early i suppose with this patch. Thats why i always inspect the other players builds, for info on why such and such is happening. if both those players got low interior and no anchor then thats definitely mike wang

I have a 6’10 and a 6’7 both with 96 driving dunk and no strength and both get consistent contacts. Only my 6’10 will I get contacts that Ik I shouldn’t go for and they still work. I think it has a lot to do with my height which is fine, small guards shouldn’t be able to just dunk on a 7’0 big regardless if it’s just a regular dunk or a contact.

Strength is a major part I can promise you I have the same build with 6’8 wingspan and 93 driving dunk and I have only ever been taking out of a dunk 2 times but I’m burley with 88 strength it is very important im not completely sure if it’s there interior defense being higher or there strength being higher but i average 27 ppg in rec with 2-3 3pt shots a game

There are some very good ones at 6'2-6'4 but there's also very good tall builds as well. You have to factor in what more height/wingspan does and not just look at attributes.

Your getting thrown out of contact posters because you have no strength .. it has a lot to do with it. Especially with the inconsistency in the game this year. Have to be balanced in the right areas. Yes of course if you green it should go in. Unless the defender contestings timing, position along with attributes are equal or better. Then green or no green you’re most likely going to miss or get blocked. 7’-7’3’’ +89 interior 99 block 91 strength and vert will stop a 99 dunk almost every time with good positioning
