It was impossible, or so I thought, to position the little t-bracket in there. Then I watched this video and my Sotar is performing flawlessly. Thanks! Great video.

Thank you for your video. I must say it helped me with the reassembly of this airbrush as my trigger fell off. I knew It was obviously something I had done wrong in the reassembly after cleaning. Now it works perfectly thanks to your video. Thank you and take care.

Great tutorial. I’ve had mine for about 20 years and it sat in its wooden box that whole time. Out of necessity I just started using it and wow it’s amazing. One thing though …My needle won’t come out just by loosening the needle Chuck. When I try to remove the needle it springs back into the handle. Any idea why?

Hi-thank you for this video. I bought my Sotar over one year ago and use it sparingly. I gently pulled out the needle and the trigger and trigger guard came out. My problem is I don’t know which way the trigger guard goes in. When I try to add the back piece the trigger guard just rolls around. Is there a good step by step explanation of trigger and trigger guard placement and assembly? I am very sorry I disassembled the backend. Total frustration. Any help welcome.

The inside seal just screws out from the back; you can see it after removing the back end. Just unscrew it, which allows you to replace the bushing if the needle gets sloppy. Nothing to it.

For anyone who needs to remove the plastic piece, my 1.5mm screwdriver bit was just barely too big and a 1.3mm head was able to unscrew it.

So the Badger Sotar 20/20 has a plastic part so you cannot clean it with cellulose thinners because it will melt? So its not meant for solvent paints? Because then I must find another airbrush.

I took apart my Badger 20/20 to soak it overnight to clean it up and when I reassembled it, some air is always going through now and the trigger doesn't press down all the way. I've tried reseating the air valve and it appears to depress correctly when not assembled, but doesn't seem to work correctly when reassesmbled. Suggestions?

Hello, just bought one and disassembled it and reassembled it to become familiar with it and everything looks good however when I went to use it when I tried to spray it the paint blew out of the cup violently...not sure what happened with out paint air comes through the tip and I thinned my vallejo paint to milk consistency...Any ideas what happened?

Thanks for this, mine was working well, but after a cleaning, I get air coming out even without pulling back the trigger, never happened before, did a second clean, needle is seated fully in the tip, any ideas? thanks!

Hey, sorry I missed your question earlier! If you haven't sorted out the airbrush yet, you probably have a clog in the nozzle that you haven't gotten out yet. Soak the nozzle in thinner (either airbrush thinner from any brand), white spirit if you can get it or cellulose thinner if you really want to shift the paint quickly. Then use the sharp end of the needle to poke the loosened paint out of the nozzle, and a stiff bristle hair brush to dislodge the rest of the paint. Only 2 or 3 hairs need to go into the nozzle to move the paint around. Then rinse the nozzle and other parts and reassemble the airbrush completely and give it another try!

there are 30,000 sotar 20/20 videos out there and not one of them details the degrees on the back.
@TinyPlasticSpacemen
@TinyPlasticSpacemen 3 жыл бұрын
They're not really in degrees as far as I know, they're just there for you to use as reference. Like if you want to back out the needle stop 1 full turn or a half a turn, etc.

I disagree with your liberal use of Needle Juice as I think it is only meant for the needle and there only that portion that come in contact with paint as it role is to resist buildup of paint. (I notice that you did not apply Needle Juice to the needle during reassembly.) The trigger and trigger backplate already have a slippery coating. I think the only place that might need lubrication is the Air Valve/Plunger assembly under the trigger. If it becomes balky or sticky I would use something like a very small drop Sewing Machine Oil.

I dip my needles in cheap ass mineral oil, and just slide it in. That gets everything. Needle juice: like $6 oz, mineral oil: $1.99 for 16 oz.
