Hillbilly Bushing Replacement - Project Nineties 80 - Part 4

Sometimes you don't have the right tool to get the job done so you make do with what you have. I don't have a hydraulic press so to change out these control arm bushes I had to get angry with a big hammer and a screwdriver.
Anything is possible if you put your mind to it and have a big enough hammer.

It does work and it is quite satisfying but it's hard on your body. My shoulder and elbow haven't quite recovered and this was over a week ago. Cheers!

Awesome video mate next time you are doing a bush in like that you can use a drill bit push the drill bit into the rubber and spin it all the way around the rubber this will cut the rubber and make it easy for you to get the centre out next you can get a hacksaw open the blade slot it in and saw away it will save you a lot of hassle I will do a video response for you because I'm a nice guy😁😁😁😁 I will also give you another shout out sorted!!!!

I did one of them with a hacksaw and drill. Broke a few drill bits doing that so gave up and used a more caveman like approach. Of course I picked the hardest of the 4 to film, the others came out a bit easier. Pro tips are always welcomed, cheers mate 😎

Do ya got a block of wood or a piece of two by four4? Ya shoulda put a piece of 2x4 against the vise so the control arm would stop before it hit the bench and you wouldn't have to repositioning it in the vise. Nice use of the vice as a press though. Bet you were glad the ball joints were bolt in. Nice job. Happy Motoring.

I should have done a lot of things but when you're rushing in the golden hour when both kids are sleeping then you just hook into it with the biggest hammer you can find and hope for the best 🤣 cheers buddy
