Hi Matt, lovely job!... Definitely room to make a floor standing lamp to match in the future. Can I make one suggestion to jazz that up a little bit with technology? That lamp base is huge and you could always put a wireless phone charger in the base from underneath. It would be fantastic to rest your phone on the base and let it charge. Just my two cents but still it's a fantastic job. Well done!

Thanks for this! I want to make a floor lamp, and this has been very inspiring. Your lamp is not quite my style, but I do like the half-lap joinery for the arm, and the chunky base. Well done on this project. It looks great!

Always a GREAT 4am morning to open YT & see a new Badger video to watch. Thank you for your dedication of posting BUILD VIDEOS rather than "Top 5 tools", "Tips & Tricks" "Tool reviews", each week! I atarted watching YT years ago for knowledge. Build videos, how too's, ect. The algorithms for TY may have changed, but you haven't changed other than producing more & better content each week. Long atory short to say THANK YOU for NOT changing & chasing the $ on YT, sticking to your plan of being a contenet creator and doing what you love!

Great project, I'm interested to know how much of a drain your lights, planer, extractor and table saw had on the power pack? Seriously thinking of going down the same route when I come to electricity in my shed.
@Badgerworkshop

Probably used 20% of the power that day making the lamp.

Very nice design Matt! What also may have looked nice if the base were a thick metal sheet (with an industrial look, brushed), but then the brass would have to be swapped for metal parts. Love the look of brass as well, so that would be a tough decision!

Nice work as ever. Watching you make the 15 degree cuts I noted the mitre saw moved a little. Wondered if it would be worth putting it on a thin board with a couple of bits on the front edge to make a bench hook to just add a little stability on the bench?

Neat lamp that reminded me of when I was a kid in the 60's I had a wooden sort of 'Anglepoise' lamp. It was really nifty. Can't remember what happened to it - I probably lost it in a move in the past 50 years. They turn up on ebay occasionally if you search for one.

My wife and I were using your bottle opener you sent us this weekend. We were admiring the workmanship, brass, wood and leather. It works really well didn’t notice the magnet until it’s function kicked in. Fantastic use of different materials. That inspired me and now this lamp 😊. Thanks for a great gift and all these great videos, really enjoy and appreciate what you do.

Lovely simple lampholder! I do prefer a shade though rather than staring at a bare bulb as it can be a little harsh to look at. Something I thought about when you used the Ecoflow to test that light is that it's got no earth on it, but your cable for the lampholder was 3-core and presumably the brass holder is earthed. When it didn't light up and you reached for it to flick the switch I was worried it might've been a bad connection and shocked you! I presume the Ecoflow has some sort of monitoring to check for earth leakage or a fault?

That came out well Matt, it's good when you build something from a simple idea & sketch and it turns out OK with no mistakes so well done ! The countersink on the brass works in two ways as it eases the edges so as to be gentler on the flex but also reveals a wider edge of brass - nice touch !

I made a lamp for my mrs once. I took the guts and shade from an old lamp she broke and made a new base for it. I put a lot of effort into it and even repurposed old copper wire to give a stitching effect on the corners. She hated it and gave it to her mother. She put it on social media first and got lots affirmation first then unceremoniously dumped it at her mothers house. Women! Yours turned out lovely though mate. A nice twist on the angle poise.
