Great build but way too dark in there for my taste... I'd have to paint it white to reflect more natural light.

This looks like a great little workshop. However, it appears a bit dark with the color of the walls and limited lighting and window coverings. You must have the eyes of an owl.

Lights, YES, but please not 5000k! I’m not sure what’s best for filming, but 3500k is much warmer and especially suited for bringing out wood.

Nice new shop to fit-out, oh boy! I real like those window shades, what are they called? My chisel wall rack is very similar to your build but I angled the top out a few degrees for access and covered the sharp edges so as not to slice myself on them. Your shop build is really nice, I like the arm chair too.

Looking good Matt, some simple but effective solutions there and homes found for many items ! I was concerned that the blinds may catch on some of the chisel blades, I guess you could put a piece of clear plastic behind the racks if this proves to be a problem ! Btw, I think the braided red flex of the festoon lighting looks very stylish against the dark blue !

What is your India ink made of Matt? I’ve seen you use it a few times an so googled it an couldn’t really find a traditional recipe that wasn’t fabric dye. You should look at ebonising wood if you like the black ebony look. You basically use vinegar and steel wool with tea to make a sort of reactive black stain that sinks in deep.
