That lil piece that “fell off” goes where that bar that is bent. When you pull the handle of the jack to lift up that lil piece can cause to bend the metal bar if you don’t pull it out. Same thing happened to my Daytona that’s why you gotta be careful when unboxing and testing at first so to clarify it’s not a defect you were supposed to take off that plastic piece before you start pumping the jack.

Great review. I noticed the jack jumping around in the sand because you placed the jack in a spot that was not precisely flat initially. Other than that, this review has me convinced to possibly purchase one.

I picked one up last weekend and after installing the wheels, the 4 corners are all not on the ground and had a wobble. I guess probably a rod or two is bent. I’ll be taking it back this weekend.

Short answer, that plastic piece if for shipping reasons to hold the lift base down and should have been removed. You damage it not taking it off.

Hey Dude, You are the one who put the jack in your truck ! If you don't want it to roll around, build a cradle to hold it in place. Otherwise, thanks for the test demo. Something I still have not heard mentioned in any video where this jack has been used is what it is made of. I have a 1 1/2 ton and a 3 ton which are aluminum from Harbor freight. I really like them. The aluminum makes so much difference using them off road. I have several heavy steel shop jacks that I no longer take off road because they are so heavy. I suspect those wheels are going to fail eventually, so I am checking sources for Aluminum billet disc to make replacements. I will not be surprised to hear that the axles have bent under load, so I am checking into hardened steel rods as well.

The door thing was a joke, No I don't expect harbor freight to so anything about that lol. as for the jack, it is fully aluminum like their other jacks. still comes in around 80lbs. I've used it a number of times since posting and it has been solid every time.

Nice review! However I fell like those tires are more for being able to haul off-road than it is to prevent the jack or tires to sink in the ground.. I usually carry around a small piece or two of ply wood in the back of my truck for that purpose. Beats buying a skidplate or baseplate for the jack.
@aguywithajeep
@aguywithajeep Жыл бұрын
The entire bottom of the jack is one skid plate so even if the wheels do sink down the bottom would support the jack. So far it’s done a great job
@Georgia4Low
@Georgia4Low Жыл бұрын
Nice Jack for sure but I’d rather have that for garage use because of the wheels and it’s easy to move around. Bottle jacks are hard to beat when off-road and for deep sand or mud I use a base plate under the bottle jack. That off-road jack will look bad ass if you come up with a way to mount it on your Jeep flat bed.
@aguywithajeep
@aguywithajeep Жыл бұрын
I’ve used solely a bottle jack off-road for years and it’s a great option for sure. Maybe I should do a video discussing used for each type of jack. I definitely will be mounting it on the flatbed though if I decide to take it anywhere

Should be an excellent alternative to the overpriced Pro Eagle. Would have been nice if HF also included a saddle attachment to go along with the flat extension (that's one thing I'd make if go this route). Debating between this and a bottle jack kit from Safe Jack. Safe Jack would be a lot easier to stow and wouldn't need me to fabricate a mounting plate. I'll probably end up flipping a coin.

that block thing at 3:42 is a wedge to hold the jack handle socket in place during transport. it is wegded between the jack handle socket and that bent bar. you probably bent that forcing the jack handle up to begin the jack with working. i only mention this, because i almlost did the same thing. i was able to get that out with a screw driver prior to using the jack. good video none the less.

1. Study, understand, and follow instructions before operating this device (it is stated right there on the label of the Jack Lever Base). @:56 Cross-bar Rod was not bent at this time-marker and the Shipping Containment-Clip was still in place right in the box. @2:24 You bent the Cross-bar Rod when you started the pumping action with the Jacking Lever Base; "before you removed the Shipping Containment-Clip." @2:44 "Same as above." @3:35 "Same as above." This is a good video for Folks to view = "What not to do." Harbor Freight could use this video as a positive outcome and as a tutorial video on their own website to acknowledge the requirement to follow instructions or the warranty is voided.

As others said, that black piece was suppose to be removed, that’s what bent the bar lol. Anyways, pro eagles have poor build quality, poor customer service, wheel issues and are also made over seas. They’re not the TOP, they’re just the original and failed to deliver a quality product, especially considering their price.

For a moment I couldn't even see the plastic piece that I was suppose to remove before use. I read the directions and had no idea where it was. I was starring right at it. The problem is the jack is so cool looking that the plastic piece looks like it belongs there. I would suggest to the manufacturing company to make that piece PINK and insert remove "PINK plastic block" in their directions. It's a shame that this gentleman bend his new jack already.

Dude, you're jacking that thing up at the frame mount for your lower control arm without strapping your control arm to prevent the wheel from dropping... of course it is jumping around, because of where you positioned the jack.
