The badlands are AWESOME! One of favorites. We're currently putting together a plan to make an exploratory trip through North Dakota's "badlands". Thanks for sharing your trip.

My only experience with ND was driving through Bismarck on our way to MN. My take away was that time forgot all about ND, it felt like driving through an old west town back in the turn of the century, defiantly need to go back, thanks for the video!

Hello, Robert! It's always good to hear from you. We are used to that look. Many of our smaller rural Texas towns have that vibe, so it feels like home to us. I don't know how to say this... but I just can't send you to the wrong state in search of the Badlands National Park. Badlands National Park is in South Dakota. Most of towns we went through in southwestern South Dakota are tourist focused. Their style was very consistent along the main thoroughfare of each. The look of most businesses were a sort of hybrid of ski-town meets the old west and the great majority had interesting, very well cared for storefronts. The towns are quite pretty. In Sturgis the look was a more gritty, western style predominantly, with many more larger venues able to handle the big crowds of the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. ~Cris

Robert!... Thanks to you, Bill researched badlands in North Dakota and found them in Theodore Roosevelt National Park! If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have looked.

Great vid! Never been to the Badlands, but it looks so cool. Didn't expect it to be so green! I love surprises and I love contrasts. And I love extremes - and this place looks to be a land of all of these!

Nice video cool history lesson. Now did you guys camp up there in that road or just drove along it?
@wobblyotteroutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Thank you @janario18. We considered staying the night there because it would be a fantastic place to camp. I was starting to fill under the weather with a cold, so we opted for a hotel that night. ~Cris

You seemed to do very well with your trailer. Do you think a similar size truck would make it with a small travel trailer?
@wobblyotteroutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Hi Brian. Yes and no. Yes, a small travel trailer could make it on the first/lower part of the road that is gravel and graded. No, we don't think a small travel trailer could make it on the part of the road that is two dirt ruts.

Mighty Bad! Where did you end up camping that night?
@wobblyotteroutdoors5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Paul. I was catching a cold and we were concerned about the weather so... We stayed the night at the hotel at the Prairie Wind Casino on the Pine Ridge Reservation. I was glad 'cause I did not feel too good the next morning. ~Cris

Can anyone please share the name of the trail or coordinates to get to the spot at 5:40?
@wobblyotteroutdoors3 ай бұрын
These are the coordinates: 43.67094431906602, -102.5679547092275 The name of the trail is Sheep Mountain Overlook Trail. There is only one road. The map and notes at the beginning of the video show the map, and signs that we followed.
