It is DEPRESSING how much the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games are better-written than the mainline Pokémon games. Like, I get that story isn't the focus, but the story of Pokémon games tend to be REALLY bland apart from when you confront the villain. I think the best story might be Sun/Moon or Ultra Sun/Moon? It at least entertained me enough to not compulsively skip the dialogue like most Pokémon games.

On that note, I also think that the music in the Mystery Dungeon games is a lot better than the music in mainline Pokémon games. There are definitely good tracks in Pokémon games, but I feel like it's very hit-or-miss and I usually end up turning the sound off sooner than later, while I can happily keep the sound on for Mystery Dungeon games.

@@mastermarkus5307I feel like that's mainly a function of how repetitive the Pokemon songs can get. Every new dungeon has a new theme, whereas every wild encounter in Pokemon has the same song (mostly), which can get repetitive. For example, I like Aegis Cave in a vacuum, but the song definitely gets on my nerves when I have to traverse it for the 5th time in a row
