"A planet where the world is burning" Dusknoir must be referring to what the Sand and Mist Continents are experiencing in the Future. If the planet is paralyzed, and Grass and (presumably) Air Continents are stuck in an endless night, then on the opposite side of the planet, the sun would never set. It would be like a fucking furnace. I like to imagine the Mist Continent being renamed to the Steam Continent, because all their numerous lakes and such had boiled away, but the scalding steam remains trapped in mid-air. You cannot traverse these Scalding Fields unless you happen to be either a Water-type with the ability Water Veil, or are a Volcanion (which I'm sure the one Volcanion that does live there isn't keen on sharing). Meanwhile the Sand Continent's landmass has increased, and now includes salt flats of what once was the sea (which also has it's own steam fields in certain spots). Some Pokemon can live there (like Cacturne, Houndour, Sandile, etc), but otherwise it would probably would be like living the world from Trigun (except the sun just never sets, so it's always fucking hot as hell outside). The Water Continent might be the only real comfortably habitable area left in that future, but even then, I imagine it's probably become this overcrowded Dystopian place where big companies like Safe Harbor Inc. literally control who lives and dies, who eats and starves, and who is allowed to steal from Kecleon shops and who isn't.
