Thanks for the detailed video, i've tried to do this high serve but it sometimes feel weird to use but it feels much better when i head my toe up along with the hip rotation 👌👌

Dumbino Here keep going at it. Watch the women’s singles players. They have great serves and you’ll see all the points I talk about. Hopefully that will help make it more comfortable. As you get better at it and you reap the benefits, it’ll be great!

Many thanks for this excellent video - once you've seen someone hit a really good high serve, you realise how few club players can actually do it. One question for you: how do you align the shuttle with the racket head? Are you dropping the shuttle directly in front or out to the right?
@PritPachu5 жыл бұрын
About the serve, a question was asked regarding ‘where the shuttle should be dropped, to the side or out in front’. It is out in front. The rotation in the upper body and hips will allow you to contact it out in front. But you have to practice the turning first, without shuttle and practice dropping the shuttle in front without hitting it. So practice it in its component parts.
@TPToE5 жыл бұрын
@@PritPachu I had a chance to spend an hour or so practicing this today and had encouraging results. What corrective measures would you suggest if the shuttle is landing short? Drop the shuttle nearer/further away or adjust the face of the racket? Furthermore, what height should the shuttle be dropped from? I have a tendency to bring my arm down when releasing the shuttle, so any suggestions as to how to avoid that would also be greatly appreciated! If all else fails, I'll eagerly await your video on the backhand flick!

Nice one Prit ... but after the serve .. when waiting to receive shouldnt the racket be held across the chest instead of by the side ... ?

Do you tighten your grip before hitting ? I've been trying to follow your advice but my forehand serve is still low. The shuttle falls down vertically but when I watch the pros, their shuttles take so long to fall down. Thanks

I need to know how to properly short serve for double. Often time my opponent kill my service instantly. Even though I feel like my shuttle was only 1 inch high from top of the net.

What you don't mention is the forearm rotation that occurs just before you hit the shuttle. This needs slow motion to show it properly. In your video, this rotation would happen just after 6:12, 6:19, 6:26, 6:31 and 6:37
