Definitely get some more lessons with Rich as he definitely had her working from behind and do some targeted strengthening work with her eg raised walk poles in hand and not always jumping big but jumping small bounces and lots of in hand stretches to strengthen her left rein … that outburst from her and going disunited isnt her being naughty it’s because she finds it hard and it’s like us going to the gym don’t overdo it early on and just keep little and often …. I honestly didn’t realise how much in hand work can strengthen them and allow them to use themselves without a rider on top and don’t forget lots of lateral work - leg yielding and shoulder in are great for engaging the hind leg. I am guilty of not doing enough in hand and polework for strengthening … would be lovely to see you doing a strengthening vlog with her

Totally agree with this, she looks weak behind, left hind in particular, which is why she was cross firing, and jacking up in the canter in the left rein. I don’t think I have seen her trot and canter like this before, she isn’t engaging her hind end at all, maybe a body worker can help too
@SherylPritchard-l3dКүн бұрын
@@lucylowe4506I agree a bodyworker is a great idea - she could be a bit sore in her muscles or could just be after the long journey to Bicton from Cornwall . It would be nice to see how she moves without a rider on top and she will find it harder if she is croup high bless her she is trying to tell us by her tail swishing, her outburst and her reaction at the end not picking up the left canter . I’m sure after working on strengthening she will find it a lot easier

Well done both of you - overall showing so much promise this early in your prep for the upcoming season. The opportunity to have one to one feedback with the judge followed by some instruction working on a couple of the movements must have been so beneficial. Lots to look forward to over the months to come. Looking forward to part 2 😊

I actually really love that the judge didn't drill you or Addie through that left circle/roll back to the track. She acknowledged that there was a limit and rather than telling you to blow Addie past that, knew to coach you to do so in SMALL increments over time. There's no need to drill until she or you resent each other ❤️

Wow you got a great judge! Love how well she went through redoing the exercises with you and really gave you thoughtful advice. Fascinating to watch!

I thought she was excellent considering the time of year. You can clearly see her improvements & where just lack of strength comes into it . Have to say you are doing a fabulous job with Addies training she is a real credit to you 🤩👍

I definitely enjoyed this and the feedback from the judge. Addie 🐴 did a fab job, especially when all the horses are feeling so fresh after the snow. Well done Emily 👏💜

Very good. It was great to see/hear the judge going over things and giving good advice. Overall, to my eye, Addie looked great. Even her little 'yipee' moment......but that's what we love about her. ❤

Thanks for the voice over with the scores 😊 my mare used to swing 1/4 to left in halt , I shift my weight slightly into left stirrup and moved left seat bone to the left to block the swing, it’s worked and we got 8’s for our last centre lines 💪🏻Addie is looking amazing. Great fun vlog 🧡

Not found on Addie's sheet, "obedient". Only kidding of course. You did a good job bringing it back together after her silliness.

Both of you have done a good work and a good score. I enjoyed the test with commentating and the extra afterwards. You really see that it is not always easy to ride even for you who have experience riding. You get the the insight of how it is with riding a horse. The new thing to prep with a judge was good, maybe you could do this later a week or two before Badminton so you could be better prepared for Badminton, what do you think about training with judge two weeks before Badminton? Well done

Was a good session great pointers for you to work on you can see the difference in her trot from the session you had with Rich and today and how she can push more from behind but as you said it is a good start. And you have seen the potential she has I would love to see you do more BD vlogs.

For some reason, I find low scores in otherwise good tests hilarious. I got a 1 a couple of years ago and I didn't know that was possible without getting eliminated!!
