What if your thumb is a lot longer? Would you need a much thicker grip? Also, I personally use that grip style with the thumb next to the racket(to great effect). While I do have the slicing problem I actually slice in completely the opposite direction(to his right instead of his left such as in the video). I'm also right-handed.
@coachingbadminton

Yes you need thicker grip if your finger/hand is big. I can not comment on the other question without seeing the picture of it. Lee

Dear Coach Lee, many thanks for the great and instructive videos! I have a question about the thickness of the racquet handle - I have very large hands, and have tried different thicknesses and layers of tape. One coach told me to wrap several tapes around to make the handle much thicker. Another coach told me to remove all the extra tapes, as I should be able to feel the shape and contour of the handle (to change grip and for net shots). This made sense to me, but sometimes a feel that I can't apply full power because this handle is not held tightly enough in my hand. Do you have any suggestions?
@coachingbadminton
@coachingbadminton 8 жыл бұрын
The best way is to have right size grip. Too thick grip lose control and too thin grip loose power. It has to be right for your palm and finger size. The question is how d you know what will be the right size of grip for your hand. I am planning to make a clips for it soon. I hope that may help you. Thanks for your question. Lee
