I'm a strong believer that Crazy Mita is roleplaying as Cappie and we never actually met the real Cappie. Crazy Mita probably captured her somewhere and impersonated her. A pretty sus giveaway is looking at her while talking to Kind Mita. It is heavily implied that Cool Mita/Cappie is the one who made the device/ring. BUT. Consider this: Crazy Mita has the device in her room, ring laying in the kitchen next to the sink. Ring that is used to travel to specific versions. What if Cappie wore a ring to meet up with Crazy Mita (on some pretense), built a machine for her and left a ring next to sink because she was washing her hands/dishes. Crazy Mita tries to hide something when you find the ring too. Now lets get back to less speculative area: Whenever Kind Mita is talking, Cappie would look at her, but regularly eyeball you, checking for your reactions and when Kind Mita says something along the lines of "Crazy Mita is a bitch, she murdered Cappie in cold blood." Cappie would look at you scared and shakes her head from left to right denying that claim. TLDR: My theory is that Cappie is actually Crazy Mita trying to figure out Kind Mita's plan and derail it as well. PLUS more importantly - she gets to spend time with the Player 1.
