Tara I don’t find it funny that Colin keeps making little digs at you and calling you high maintenance, complaining about going shopping because it will be 1k, wouldn’t even let you open a water bottle, and that you wanted an old money hotel. These are your “standards” and that’s perfectly okay. Don’t invite you out there if he’s going to put so many conditions on it. Do not lower them for anyone. This is a peak into what your life is going to end up being if you stay with him. Imagine 5 years from now, 10 years from now, having children, married etc. is that really the life you want to live?? Look into coersive control. He is emotionally abusing you and it often will end in physical abuse. Don’t ever lower your standards. If he can’t provide the life you are use to living he needs to leave. Please don’t let him move in with you friend.
