It seems that it counts as a hit rather than a projectile. Bison can absorb it due to VS1 doing the same to single hits, and Nash just uses his own hitbox to deflect. I imagine most deflectors will probably “reflect” it unintentionally.

Then I'd think M. Bison should do his "hit" v-skill counter on it, and the hit shouldn't make the tire disappear but bounce it back, same as Nash's.

@@Bafael I suppose it's designed to nullify single hits entirely, so it nullifies the tire. Maybe Kolin VS1 would work the same way.

@@Bafael Not many people know because Nash is such an obscure character, but his vs1 could always absorb single hitting physical attacks as well as projectiles. And if it was the hitbox of vs1 that connected, the tire wouldn't disappear after only being hitted once.

Free is a bit strong lol, it's probably breaking the combo the opponent's getting on you for using V-skill in the first place. That being said I can see the "trade" conversions being good for abigail depending on how things unfold, and it might encourage mistakes from the opponent too.

This has got to be my favorite new V-Skill just because it's hilarious. I do think it's pretty good, and in certain zoner MUs I could see Abigail using it as a way to try and close space, but not very well. VS1 is probably better, but VS2 is not only still pretty good, but opens up a lot of potential in of itself. I could see it being slightly MU dependent, but ultimately I think it might just end up as a playstyle-dependent thing, people choosing whichever one they like more since they have pros and cons on both ends. Feel like its got a huge potential to be stupid though, so once really grimy stuff is found with it somehow I think it could skyrocket.

I don't think it's even good against most zoners. Projectiles go right through it and the startup is HORRENDOUS. Most zoners who didn't press a button before you use it will just fireball you and block it.

@00:49 I was watching Storm Kubo running VS2 and he'd connect with like an average of 3-4 EX Abigail punches per round, giving him the free tire each time and paying dividends. Only getting a tire out safely after an EX Abigail punch isn't as bad as it sounds when connecting with the move is so easy and frequent. Also, some characters also have a tough time punishing the tire animation on reaction from full screen, giving Abigail a more dangerous approach.

Feel like this v-skill is secret top tier. Once that tire is called, it's gotta be dealt with. It's going to stop combos. It's going to sucker people in to 'punishing' it. It's basically a 'rope a dope' move.

Two questions. One, why is Abigail legit one of the most interesting fighters in this game? (which is saying a lot coming from me, who thinks SFV has a really solid roster) This is probably the most creative v-skill in the game. Two, what’s with weird frame data on Abigal? First his CA is ludicrously punishable if blocked, and now he has a v-skill which takes over a full ass second?

I imagine it's to balance out how versatile his CA is, the swath that it can catch someone in is extremely good. Also, seeing how good the tire is in high level play, they HAD to give it a draw back. It's intimidating when someone knows what to do with it and that tire only obeys it's own rules.

His Super is massively unsafe on block, but supers are supposed to be. This V-skill is an interesting idea but IMO it's just too weak and hard to use to be effective as it is now. If it nullified projectiles (and still continued on) then it could be useful in some matchups.

But i think v skill 2 works much better with fireball heavy char like guile. What you do is you call the tire and purposely get hit with the fireball after which we get a “free walk in” so to speak. And considering abigail is a big char with a lot of life he can take it.

Abigail lives on converting fuck-ups into massive damage, and a really flaccid ground fireball you can bop around just isn't worth the trade-off. I think this is for clowning on players. It's gonna be a real sign of opponent disrespect in tournaments if it comes out at all.

Calling it now: Abigail tire assist for Smash Ultimate Also it doesn't seem that good. There's some interesting stuff you can do and because you can juggle the tire you can put out some insane pressure if done correctly. BUT SEVENTY SIX FRAMES. Jesus god. I don't think it's good enough to use his other V-skill. If it went through fireballs/projectiles (meaning the tire keeps going but it cancels the projectile then maybe it could be used in some matchups. If they made it special cancelable or just made it faster in general it might end up being total cancer though. Might be for the best that it's NOT good. Give Abigail a souped-up version of Birdie's can seems like it would be busted AF.

Well all the pro's think he has one of the most powerful second v-skills in the game. The tire gives you so much screen control and it gives you some nutty damaging combos.
