Exactly glad someone else said this ! , she took a backseat here n he got take the center stage and definitely made it sound amazing n naturally outshined in this particular rendition. While kaushiki ji hardly sang the alaap or did extensive taans . It's not a competition about who is better. Both are legends in my opinion .But obviously people will compare as if they are world class judges of music 😂

Kaushiji Ji is performing ALL over the Globe and how unfortunate that inspite of being Super talented Mr. Desikan gets no performance invitations ? I am shocked . Even in Darbar Festival she performed alone . Why not a duet? They never ever share stage. He has no visibility and simply no existance in the music world. This is an injustice to a talent . His identity should not be Husband of kaushiki Ji Only. His identity should be as an independent Artist.

Non musical idiots comparing the greats as usual without understanding the basic roop of this presentation or the mood of a jugalbandi. Imo. Ragas like bageshri. Lalit ,jog, bhairav are more suited in male voices due to its gravitas and the resonance it demands and vice versa for ragas like yaman ,rageshri ,behag , hameer ,madhuvanti , which sounds better sweeter and subtler female voices . Its a jugalbandi here pt ji took the central stage with initial alaap and how he carried the presentation and kaushikiji complemented him beautifully throughout with her artistry. Jugalbandis are not meant for comparing. And in classical music its absolutely rare between male n female musicians . Why cannot people enjoy the creation of more than one artist without making comparisions. And praise one without bringing down another. Really pity these listeners.

Duh! Kaushiki ji is a woman with a subtler but beautifulvoice and completely different style. Where parthaji has a very similar vocal texture to panditji. A very sweet yet bold voice. Do u think you can ever sound like your mother no matter how much try? Dont make such foolish comments and compare artists of great calibre whose only purpose is to serve the artform, not compete n compare like you laymen make it look like . Also jugalbandis are not competition. Here panditji took the center role and kaushiki ji was simply complementing him. Anyway raags bageshri , jog , darbari sounds better in m male voices due it's gravitas and heavy undertone. Phle suno samjho phir behuda competition Karo
