This interview is such an asset. The more I listen to her speak out her thoughts , her philosophies the more I understand by her musical expression. Her inner beauty and unique persona reflects in her music and why it is so different from everyone including her own legendary father and the more I fall in love with it. It's not easy to daughter of an enigma like panditji and curve your own path musically and otherwise and create your identity in one's youth itself , but she has done it and so beautiful. What struck me the most, is the way she recognized all the musicians who supported her on the stage. What a wonderful expression at a human level by someone many consider to be the goddess of classical music. There are so many wonderful nuggets here. Examples: Why-What-How (the pivotal role of why). "I don't have ownership.""Is singing for Bollywood a progress for a singer? That is something wher ei find my expression. My music is my centerstage. I don't see my music as a supporting element that will be defined by another narrative. Why do I need to put my music back stage."
