I absolutely LOVE your tutorials. This year for my birthday my dad bought me some Marino wool yarn that was hand dyed to replicate Starry Night, and this particular hat pattern has made the yarn pop so beautifully! This was one of the first hats I attempted back in January. It was not a good idea at that time. Today, after many other projects and learning new stitches and following your tutorials, I have successfully completed this hat. It is my favorite so far and I think it looks good with a matching scarf using the Inverted Shell stitch. My family will be getting sets for Christmas! Thank you so much for all you teach.

Love your new hat! Shell patterns are my favorite. I appreciate how you show the steps so clearly, especially when you are starting and ending a row. I can do the front and back-post dcs, but when going in the round I have a bit of trouble knowing exactly where to begin, and how to end a row correctly. Thank you for showing this so plainly! I'm definitely going to try this hat! Since I tend to crochet loosely, I'm going to go down a hook size and use size 4 yarn and see what I get. If it does turn out too small for me...well, I have a 4-year-old granddaughter who loves my crocheted hats. About every other time she comes to see me, she leaves wearing a new one! lol And this spring, I am going to try my first garment--one of the toddler dresses you made for Evelyn. Everyone does baby dresses (though I think yours are the best), but toddler dresses are so much harder to find. Thank you for your tutorials for toddlers!
