That’s my FAVORITE stitch. I learned it as the Jamie blanket stitch. I’ve been waiting for years for you to do this tutorial as a project. The way it was made as a scallop on the edges of the blanket, starting each row with a chain of 2 and then proceed with a dc, ch2, 1sc. This stitch is also called the bushy stitch in the Readers Digest craft book from about 1975.

AaahYes!! I remember it with those names! 👵🏻 I made the scallops on the side edges just as you did, and omitted any SC row at the beginning (worked pattern row into chains) so that it looked scalloped on all 4 sides. So very nice for scarves and blankets!! 👵🏻

I recently found you. I have been crocheting for 50 years always using patterns. I found a scarf i wanted with no pattern. Your stitch tutorials are wonderful. They are helping me to make my scarf. I will be exploring your channel for a long time. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You are a great teacher

I bought 10 boxes of yarn from the JoAnn's sale you told us about. I am having a difficult time picking patterns to use. Every time you show us a new pattern, it just gets HARDER!! LOL! Stop that!! Hahaha! Got 6 colors of Scarfie and want to show off the roving yarn. I'm thinking the Star stitch combo pattern you did in mustard for one. As soon as I finish my own afghan from TEMU yarn, I'll start using your patterns. This yarn you cannot take mistakes out, cuz of the thick halo. So just doing all DC. It is beautiful yarn. Cheap. But not quality. I'm so excited to start my REAL afgans!!! Thanks so much for your inspiration, Crystal!!! 😊 You have gotten me back to using yarns. I've been doing #10 Cotton thread doilies for 4 years now. I'm totally into afghans THIS year!! Everyone in my family will get one for Christmas this year!! You change lives!!! TFS! Hugs from Austin TX USA

I am constantly amazed at you, Crystal. You are a genius at crocheting and the best crochet teacher in the universe. Right up there with Albert Einstein. How was i ever so lucky to find you? This is a great stitch and I will try to make a simple kimono top for spring/summer to use as a cover up to throw on over a tank top if unexpected company comes. It's perfect for my needs and easy enough to do with my waning focus and concentration. Thank you! 💕💕💕

Hi, you could easily make a nice rectangle shawl out of this stitch, how she taught … either make it the width or length you’d like ( depending how you’d like the stitches to go) then make as many rows as you’d like… do the last row to even it out, n put a border on if you’d like..
@valeriemcgruder939210 ай бұрын
Thank you Crystal. Great stitch and thank you for the tips on keeping a straight edge and straightening the top. You always have such great ideas for fixing things and you explain them so well. Also really appreciate that even with your demonstration you emphasize that it is still each person's choice.

Such a pretty stitch and yarn color! I love learning new stitches and figuring out something to make with them. This one looks fun to do. I can see using this in a t-shirt or other top, putting a wide band of a less see-through stitch around the bust area. Just the second row of it would make a pretty border.

I love it, just what I've been searching for! One row repeat and not a yarn eater!! Special thanks for showing how to straighten out the sides and the top, I too like straight edges, especially because I want to make a cardigan out of it.

I love one row repeats! IDK what I'm going to use it for, but I'm definitely trying to make a swatch just for fun! Not too long ago I started a "folder" on KZbin called "Favorite crochet stitches" and so far I think all the ones I've collected are from your channel. You are an excellent teacher, everything is always so clearly explained that even when I find other tutorials for the same stitches, I tend to go back and refer to your videos for clarification. And I love to hear your family in the background, like a REAL person. Love your channel and thank you so much!

You've just made chaining the first row SO MUCH EASIER for me. The penny has just dropped. Chain on in multiples of 3 until you are at the length you want for your project! Simple!! (previous tutorials told me to chain 78 and I would forever lose count and have to start again). Thank you! Chain 1-2-3-pinch, 1-2-3-pinch, 1-2-3-pinch. Game changer!
