Just because the most popular music at the moment is the crap music doesn't mean there isn't good music out there. You're just listening to the wrong music. There has always been bad and good music, it's just that at the moment the bad music is more popular, god knows why. Steven Edelmann No. In certain cases, yes. But again, I'm coming back to the idea that you're listening to the wrong music. There is PLENTY of good music out there that uses the lyrics to actually show something - and whatever they show is completely open to the listeners interpretation. I, myself, enjoy instrumental music more because it is easier for me to imagine a story with it - but I find myself doing the same thing with music by Tom Waits, or the like.

Never skip the opening credit sequence. The music and visuals put you in the proper frame of mind, and the various locations shown actually hint at the events of the episode. In the final season, the sequences became more detailed, and gave key clues, like when The Wall near Eastwatch is destroyed, or when the sigil of House Targaryen isn't raised above the Iron Throne in the final episode. That last bit clued me in as to the fate of Daenerys.

My favourite is the hieroglyphics that you see at the start and near the end. The shot of the Stag punchering the dragons throat, depicting Robert crushing the Targaryens was cool asf.
