Baguio indeed is a place of peace as compared before, the image of the city was innocent and sincere. I love the developments but I'm still inlove with the old Baguio without too much cars everywhere and pine trees are still many.

Thanks for posting. I grew up in Baguio from 1971-1986. It was an absolutely wonderful place to live. Haven't seen my hometown in 23 years. So pictures and videos make me cry. I don't think I'd be able to handle a trip back home. It doesn't look very nice. Sometimes I wonder how beautiful this planet was before humans came along.

very nice video.. the background song was very appropriate, it interprets the raise and fall of baguio. very inspiring. i was in first year college when the devastating earthquake came. we slept on the street of M. Roxas trancoville. but we, Baguio people, rose up. look at our Baguio today... what ever they say about our hometown baguio, traffic, overcrowded, and what not, Baguio still has that Magic....

heart warming...nothing compares to how baguio was then...its memories will live on...i grew up here...this is my home:) and i love it...i just hope that it would continue to change for the better...the awe i have for burnham park should be enough...that place was more than just a dating park then...it was overwhelming...just overwhelming...and CJH...it was a very memorable place for everyone. it was the get-away spot. not a big "city for the rich and the famous" it was for camping and all that.

Ahh the old Baguio. I wasn't there when the earthquake happened (I'm 13 years old today) but my mother was. She was highschool back then and now she is 40 years old. Time flies by so fast. I like Baguio now and Baguio before, but Baguio before is so much more Beautiful. With the technology today, most things you can see are buildings upon buildings. I think there are only few places where it is surrounded by trees. (Mainly Burnham Park, John Hay, South Drive, PMA, and a few more)

In 1950’s Baguio is cold on daytime and chilly at nightime. Burnham park is clean and beautiful with different flowers and plants around. Camp John Hay, looks very American. Session road is clean and no smog and ukay ukay. The public market is a place where you can stroll while eating strawberries etc. it is not as crowded as it is now. I miss the old Baguio.

Amazing Video! Baguio City has & will always be special in my heart. We now live in Canada but everytime we go home, we always visit Baguio. We love Baguio so much, this is where we had our first date, our honeymoon, countless vacations & used to come to pray (Grotto) when we are down & desperately needs help. Thanks so much for this wonderful video, thought I know evrything about Baguio City but after watching this video I'm more amazed and proud of what Baguio have achieved 100 years after.

this video almost made me cry--of joy and sadness. i am a Baguio boy and it's really nice to reminisce the good ol' Baguio. the music blends with the video, very appropriate choice of music, nakakadala lalo na nung pinortray sa movie na to yung earthquake. but what i liked most in this video are the photos from 1920's to 1980's sayang nga lang hindi napakita yung post-war Baguio...thank you for making this video...thank you...

The development after the earthquake was way too much. So many condominiums and no zoning for trees. Too many people for a small city. I grew up here and I miss the old Baguio. It was better before. It was clean and it was so easy to get to your destination. Walking was an option because of the cool and clean breeze. Politicians in a way destroyed the city of Baguio. Sad to say. Honestly I wish the American base stayed in Baguio forever.

i love the pictures of the old Baguio. it showed what Baguio is meant to be. A city where development and ecology is balanced. Where people can enjoy city life yet still be very close to nature. The newer pictures show that this is lost. It doesn't show how Baguio is different from manila anymore. puro buildings, traffic, electicity poles na lang ba ang Baguio ngayon? I hope the development of baguio will still allow people to enjoy the natural environment Baguio is supposed to be able to offer.

Baguio should make an Urban Planning degree mandatory for all those who want to work in the city's zoning department. CBAO also needs to figure out effective ways to strictly implement the Philippine Building Code for all new projects. And lastly, all illegal structures need to be taken down, no questions asked.
