Momon basically just gave them one last chance to back out of the quest.... I don't know if you remember, but they've been hired to explore a *newly discovered ruins near E-Rantel and a small village* Ainz is a part of this venture and I don't know if you remember what he was talking about before he arrived here.... There is a reason he asked that question.... Try to keep in mind what he asked at the end of this episode and what the response was.... Think about these things while you're watching future events....

The thing about the lizardmen is that for people those lizards came out of nowhere and the story focused too much on them. The carne village arc was more interesting for people because we already knew the characters and we had a minuscule attachment to them, and it's the continuation and "future" of whatever happened and what's going on at the town Ainz saved right at the start of the show. In my opinion tho, both arcs were quite fun to read, so i can't really relate to people who went in blind for S2 and S3, as i just read everything (and keep reading on release) as soon as i finished watching S1.

Yea .. each year around harvest season the Empire has a war against the Kingdom ... the Empire has a standing army so they're using all their resources.. the Kingdom has to levy the commoners and miss out on harvest and because they aren't as well trained and equiped they have to have a lot more troops unless they want to lose .. after at most a small skirmish the Empire retreats .. after a couple of years the cummulative economic damage will be enough to take over the Kingdom .. and all with minimal losses

undead pop where there is death and the more undead there are the more powerfulundead pop eventually a death knight pops up naturally and they get killed looks like they managed to capture one and are trying to use magic to control it but its not working bacause of skill issues

Putting skeletons near corpses makes sense in their world if you remember in season 1 when ainz first summoned the death knight it turned those that it killed into zombies

I forgot what was Ainz thoughts during this and other details in the Novel so I'm saying this based on my perspective as an anime watcher. Ainz was giving his final chance and mercy towards them when he asked them why would they enter the ruins. Unfortunately, they gave a wrong answer and so all bets are off. They answered money and just like that, Ainz saw them as selfish beings. But the thing is... the Foresight group may have answered money too and while they are actually obsessed with that, there's a good reason why they want money this time: For Arche. In the first place, they were initially hesitant about taking the job because it was suspicious as heck but they accepted it in the end because of Arche. Even making up excuses that it wasn't because of her as the reason why they accepted the job. Maybe I'm just being optimistic but I believe if they just have time to talk with Ainz or was given a chance to talk more about their reason behind why they took the job, maybe Ainz would... well an opposite of what will happen in the future. Honestly, in any other day, while I would feel bad for good or pitiful characters dying, I would immediately dismissed it and easily moved on. In my mind, it's just the the world isn't fair and what happen to them was just the result of their own actions. There's no reason to dwell on what-ifs and what could have been. I also feel like that towards the Foresight. Then... Arche's Sisters happen... 😭 It was never shown in the anime but in the novel. They're truly innocent. What happen to them was not a result of their own action but rather just a chain of events that was caused by others. That's the one that truly made an impact. 😢

I liked the lizardman arc too. I think some people just don't like anything furry adjacent for no good reason. Even though this demi human design has been around for literally like 100 years. I think some of the people who didn't like it just aren't fans of anime to begin with tbh. It's no worse in quality than any arc in the show. It doesn't drag on any further than any other arc does and if anything it's shorter. I thought the lizardmen were cool and the white one is cute. I would keep her as a pet. =3
