Furloughed since May 1st due to Covid-19, I took the opportunity to travel all over South Florida with my childhood friends and our kiddos. We needed kid friendly places to take them on the paddleboards (SUP) so I became obsessed with finding the perfect spots to safely paddle, swim & snorkel with kids, an all in one so they are happy, and we are happy, win win!! If you haven't visited Bahia Honda yet, you must check it out, truly paradise located in Marathon south of the 7 mile bridge in the Florida Keys.
Per Florida State Parks website:
Henry Flagler’s bold effort to build a railroad to Key West in the early 1900s turned the remote island of Bahia Honda Key into a tropical destination.
Known for its iconic Florida scenery - palm-lined beaches, gin-clear waters and magnificent sunsets - visitors to the park enjoy balmy sea breezes that caress the shores year-round. Kayaks and snorkeling gear can be rented, and boat trips to the reef for snorkeling excursions are available.
The park is an excellent place to observe wading birds and shorebirds, while the Sand and Sea Nature Center introduces nature lovers to the island’s plants and animals."

My husband and I are already planning out family vacation for next year with the kids. This year we went to Siesta Key for a week, and then Panama City for 3 days after Siesta Key. We were disappointed in both! Water was brown😓. We really want to go to Key West, but don’t know of any beaches that have crystal clear water like this. At time stamp 1:40, where exactly is this? Because it looks so beautiful ! We’re willing to make the drive all the way from Mississippi because it looks like it’s worth it!

It really is such a beautiful beach, we love Bahia Honda 💙 Sandspur Beach remains closed for day use and camping during construction due to Hurricane Irma.

We do wear masks in public spaces. All our videos are COVID safe family friendly activities in the water or at state parks away from others.
