Don’t do what is shown in this video! Drones are prohibited in all state and national parks. Swimming at the head springs is only allowed by WALKING to the designated swim area only AFTER you’ve docked your boat at the launch. The launch is before the designated swim area. It’s an aquatic preserve and you cannot jump on and off your boat. There’s a sign as you enter the park from the water advising this.

As a nativite Floridian, I can tell you that they🐊 do not bother you if you do not bother them. Plus, they like the other white meat 😜 Do not walk small dogs all my the river, don't dive for megs in their nest or near them during mating season and all is good 🤙

How deep does the water get along the old tracks? Over 5’?
@EpicSaltyLife
@EpicSaltyLife Ай бұрын
On the side of the sandbar it's about waist deep, I was able to climb up the tracks to mount the GoPro so, not deep. On the other side of the tracks it drops off a bit, but all around that area you have patches of shallow clear blue water, it's stunning!

🐊😂🐊😂 Right, according to Wikipedia, Alligator Reef is named for the USS Alligator, a ship assigned to suppress the trade of slaves coming from the African coast in the 1820s. In November 1822, the Alligator was escorting a convoy of merchant ships when she ran aground on the shallow reef. Therefore, not scary at all and an excellent place for families to snorkel as it's quite shallow.

We have an upcoming tip planned to Rainbow Springs State Park I am so happy to see you can rent I am so happy to see you can rent Kayaks from the Campground. kayaks from the Campground! I can see they are decent kayaks too. We went to Wekiwa Springs State Park and the kayaks were terribly uncomfortable . Now I am excited to go!
@EpicSaltyLife
@EpicSaltyLife 3 ай бұрын
Yes, I was very happy to see the quality of the kayaks they rent at the campground too! I was able to keep my SUP there too which was great since it's a bit of a hault from site to launch. My son likes kayaks so we rented a tandem for $70 full day and it was great. You can also rent by the hour or two, after that is a full day charge but worth it 👌

My family used to canoe down the river back in the late 70s and early 80s with the place that used to be next to Canoe Outpost, Canoe Safari. It was a very similar setup, and we loved it. I've never been camping on the river, though. We always did day trips. I might have to get the family to go on an outing. This video brings back a lot of memories.

Hey, I love your videos! My family and I are coming down in February and hope conditions are good to do this! Can i ask for this single day trip, did you do the 5 miles, or longer? Any pro tips for what to look for as far as stopping points for fossils and teeth? Thank you, my daughter is very excited!
@EpicSaltyLife
@EpicSaltyLife Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delayed response! That’s Awesome!! Water levels start getting lower in February and you can look on the Canoe Outpost Facebook page for a water level update. For fossiling look in areas that stop the stream like trees. Just be aware of your surroundings and do not dig near what could be a gator bed which is usually in the walls of the river. We did the 12 mile run from Gardner then camped. We’ve done a day trip from Brownsville which I believe is 8 miles which is great, you see a lot 👍 Enjoy!
