A quarter of Latinos in the U.S. identify as Afro Latino or Afro Carribbean, and dance is one way to connect with roots that have been historically underrepresented. Kati Hernández an Afro Cuban dancer, teaches dance in Los Angeles, blending culture, history and joy into her steps. Annenberg Media's Ayanna Martinez filmed at SoHo Dance LA, where Hernandez teaches popular Cuban dance styles of salsa, rumba, mambo and her signature Oricha Dance Therapy.
