Thank you for sharing this lovely footage. So often the stories of Black people are not told from our own perspective. The world needs to know that our lives are rich and significant and that what is portrayed of us in mainstream media and society isn't always accurate. We are beautiful, dignified, purposeful and constructive.

I’m the great-great-granddaughter of the daughter of a slave. I find that descendants of slaves from Cuba tend to be grateful to have been born free from slavery rather than victims. It is a very controversial topic this days, though

Tainos were a Native American tribe found in PR and Cuba. I am a descendant of them. In addition, Cuba also had the Ciboney and Guanajatabeyes tribes, though lesser in numbers and might. Please don't spread misinformation, black people in the Caribbean are descendants slaves brought over from Africa, they are not the Native tribes original to this land.
