For the yoyo move, can the leader compensate for the follower if they don't do a crossover step or shift to the side on 1. I always have a difficult time making the follower shift to the side.

Yes Greg…it could be done anywhere from 100% of lead moving around to 100% of the follow moving around… that said try to connect your right hand to her hip and push a little while holding her hand… also dont block her turn momentum just follow it

How does the man lead the lady into her 'cross forward' footwork on 1-2-3? If I dance with a first time partner (doing on-1 Salsa) , she'll always go back on her right foot on the first count. I never heard of a partner being able to go forward on the first count - same as the leader never going forward on 5. Am i missing something here or too much of a beginner? :)

You are correct. Not sure what youre referring to in this video… all cross bodies leads are done on 5;)

@@SalsaBailaProductions Check out your partner's footwork at 3:18. She's going forward on 1. The leader can certainly forward cross on 1 and the woman can cross on 5 because these are their forward steps. This is the first time I've seen a woman's move where she goes _forward_ on her 1 count. FYI I tried out this combo tonight on the dance floor with a few girls - went pretty well but I wasn't checking their footwork:)

@@markymarc9339 ohhh i see thats the natural motion of the body... just before she was spinning... if I would let her go ( no wrap ) She would finish her turn and step back on1... its a particularity of this move ;)
