While I appreciate the contents of this archive I’m always subsequently disappointed when reminded how much credit is given the recordists rather than the performers. Nevertheless, wonderful music.

Please note that the card in the video was prepared in 1942 by a Library of Congress cataloger working from notes handwritten on the original disc sleeve, which did not include the artists' names. (These were announced in a separate recording.) In our own digitization and cataloging efforts - undertaken in collaboration with the Library's American Folklife Center and independent researchers and presented on the Lomax Digital Archive - we attempt to include as much descriptive metadata as we're able.
