This song hurts 💔 I had been fighting for my marriage for the past year. The fight is always hard when it's just you fighting. This past month I contemplated suicide and started to inflict self harm and 1 morning I woke up and said no more. The thing about music is that it has different meanings for everyone. With this song I don't think of a break up but rather my relationship. I have some serious mental health issues including unaliving ideation. My husband and I met 5 years ago; we were just friends at first. I opened up to him about my plans to end my life and my struggles. He stayed up with me all night for months, till we became friends and then more. He has been my rock when I have been falling apart. The lyrics "weigh down on me, stay till morning" have a completely different tune for me. They reflect every night that he has begged me to just make it through the night with him, every 3 am conversation where he has told me I am more than enough.

I got clean 2.5 years ago. My boyfriend did not. I stood by his side trying to fight for him when he didn’t want to fight for himself. You can’t expect someone to get clean just because you do. I finally hit my breaking point with it. He has been my person for 8 years, through the bad and the good but I know in my soul, its time to end it.
