This is good if you know you are going to need a faster sinking bait. Washing the fat off isn't always a good idea though. The Fat can help the bait sink slower which can be a advantage if fish are taking on the drop mid water or close to the surface. The Fat also adds more of a scent trail.

Yes your right. I would probably us a jig rig if the carp was up in the water on pellet for them you can catch at all depths but we have found on our local match venue,s that this method works better because when your fishing fast your hands arm,t covered in fat plus the fat can also take carp out the swim as they follow the trail..but yes it's each to there own..theres alot of silver fish also in the venues so we try to get past them fast as possible to get into the bigger fish..

Or even do slapping and tapping where you are aloud as some places don't let you..easy to mug off top and just under the surface. 🎣🎣👍👍

The only time I would leave the fat on is if I was personally fishing on a river as I could help draw fish up the river but I have also found that the fat makes the fish go frenzy and can sometime result in foil hooked fish as there whising around on the bottom.. hope this helps...

This is if you want your bait to drop faster.. plus the fishing venue we go to leaving the fat on sends the f1 carp mad and you get alot of foul hooked fish witch can push fish out your swim..I leave the fat on when I'm river fishing as this well bring fish up the river into your swim..thanks for watching and yight lines..🎣🎣

Another good Idea can be to Loose feed some small pieces & fish a Bigger piece over the top. Carp can be a bit like Kids - going for the biggest one!!

I used to add garlic or aniseed oil mate some years ago.. I used it different on river as I want to draw fish up the swim ..
