Great video as always guys - Had some of my best Tench on sweetcorn. Think I can go one better on the cheap baits though ;-) The last 2 weeks have been fishing a local lake in Iver, home to Carp, Bream and some cracking silvers, with my brother. The small Perch kept hitting me on maggot and worm whilst I was getting a lot of knocks and lifts but no proper bites on 6mm pellet. Overhanging the water was an elderberry bush - I thought it logical that these would fall in to the water and the fish would take them so picked some and stuck them on the hook. Cue a Roach frenzy - Over 50 the first weekend averaging 8oz with a biggest at 1lb 4oz, around 20 last week running up to 12oz. Also bounced something very heavy which I suspect was a Carp. Total cost of bait - £0

I’m not a specimen angler I’m pretty old school when it comes to fishing I have the carp rods etc but for me nothing beats the waggler rod with a porcupine float and a lump of meat or if later on in the session when it gets darker il switch to a bubble float and float a bit of crust I love it 😍

For the last couple of years I've often used tins of Tulip Bacon Grill obtainable from larger Tesco's branches, as Spam has become so soft and soggy. The BG works just as well, but is a little firmer and stays on the hook better, especially when Punched and presented on a Drennan Pushstop.

This season, I'd say 70% of the carp I've caught was on using bread. I usually fish with two rods, I cast one with a boilie or a pop wafters or meat and leave it on the buzzer. The other rod I'd either float fish or use a quiver tip rod. But when I float, it's either on the surface or on laying on the bottom. I always catch each time I go. Bread you cannot go wrong.

Great tutorial!!! Don’t forget cheese and peas though!!! Back when I was a kid our family was quiet poor. On a Sunday afternoon my brothers and I used the remains of the Sunday roast for bait. Potatoes carrots peas and we couldn’t afford traditional meat for our roast so the left over sausage was a great bait too!!! Each bait caught fish on it’s day….

Precision engenering change the allow cogs for brass and they spin with 1 spin of the hand for over a minute.. The Hardy and Alcock rods are great. Just get new tops made for 100 each. And it's green clean fishing... Just makes the experance feel better.. I'm sourcing cotten branded lines made of cotton and silk. Strong stuff.. Will try the spam dog food

Hey guys just wondering if you have a video on different leads etc, looking at joining a new lake and being really new to carp/lake fishing there's alot of new rules I need to follow. At the moment I'm using an inline lead I believe where the weight has the line going through it and it can move freely up and down the line. I've been told I need a semi fixed/something else and I'm not exactly sure what I need.

Having massive problems with cormorants at the moment on my local river bait fish have become basically non existent which seems to have moved the pike on? This time last year had already had several doubles biggest being 18lb 4, had a least 6 or 7 blank sessions now fishing same methods which were so successful last year? Will this temporary or does this mean my local stretch is now and will continue to be no good?

Bread doesn't "fall off the hook after one cast", if you use it right. Buy the right bread, not hovis, warburtons is good. Hovis is all air and bleach. Keep your bread fresh, balance the size of the bait to the hook, mould a soft part of the bread round the shank, and don't break the grain. If you want to use it at distance, you can always microwave and roll it, and/or hair rig it. It shouldn't "fall off"... and spam isn't cheap. Generic cheap meat is better, because it's full of fat and contains more gristle, which makes it hook better. Take it out of the tin, and put it in the fridge for 24 hours, which gives it a nice skin. For chub, hotdogs are just as good, and half the price. but meat will never out-fish bread.

Bubble float is good if you need to get your bread out further. They take on water, which provides weight, are transparent so don't spook the fish too much and they float. Never tried with carp, used exclusively with floating bread for mullet. Also, hard, super smelly cheese for big river chub.
@samgarrod47812 жыл бұрын
Tins for hookbait, frozen for throwing. Refreeze it after if you haven't used it all. The freezing and defrosting process breaks the fibres in the kernels down. More mushy and smelly. 😉 Just don't get the fishbag and the hoomanbag confused in the freezer....
