23:29 it looks like you're missing part #130. I took mine apart for the first time yesterday and I'm also missing this part. Take a look at your schematics and you'll see this. It's a small washer that should go between the clicker and the star drag. What do you think?

@@Paddleheads not sure. Do you have the timestamp for that? There was the small metal washer you were unsure of and that went in the right place.

Sometimes these small washers are put in place as spacer washers. I've actually had a Shimano Curado e series one that had a spacer washer and one that didn't. So possibly this is the case

Anyone noticed that you can't get any parts for these reels? Any idea what are these based on an what parts would be compatible? Kick lever springs failing an my 300s. Thanks

Do you know what sizes are the bearings...i want to replace with ceramic

Don't know the sizes specifically. There are manufacturers that make ceramic bearings specifically for reels, I'd look into them and see if they have a kit for this reel. I've upgraded some older reels to ceramic bearings - over time the difference becomes less and less vs stock bearings, personally I wouldn't recommend spending the money.

Where is the 502 piece? Is a washer in the handle.

It seems like some of these reels have that piece and others don't. I believe that washer goes on between the drag and the handle.

@@Paddleheads Thanks for reply! :) While reeling in the bait, very light on top water baits and feels way more "clicky" using bucktail like double 8. You can probably more feel it in the hand than hear it.

Have you taken it apart to clean yet? Did this happen after cleaning?

@@Paddleheads No, not yet, one started doing that, and now the other developed the same problem. They work perfectly fine, it just feels weird in the hand. Got 2 more and they still work fine. They are all in service 2 seasons. ( Musky only) I keep my stuff clean, and always inside so it's not abuse issue :)

Could be any number of things. If you're concerned about it, I'd recommend following this tutorial to open it up, clean, and add new grease and oil. That may be just what it needs.

Good detailed breakdown. You also could have taken out the two screws that hold the drive shaft plate in place, çleaned and applied some fresh grease and oil to the drive shaft bearing. Nothing can fall out when it's taken apart so totally safe to go that ond step further to access the bearing. 👍

my reel developed a click as i reel after i took it apart. i double checked video and my own pictures i took along the way and all pieces are back correctly. any ideas?

It could be a lot of things. If it clicks while you reel - could be a gear, if it clicks when you're fighting a fish - could be the drag. If it clicks when you're casting, could be the spool. Can you give me more details?

So I saw your reel cleaning video this spring and some of the reels you cleaned were piscifun alijoz reels. which leads me to my Questions: 1) power handle vs dual handle when do you choose which one for your technique? 2)8.1 vs 5.1 gear ratio what uses are best for each gear ratio in your opinion? 3)how are your alijoz holding up

Excellent questions. 1) I use a power handle for musky fishing because they're you're fishing with such large baits that the length of the handle gives you a little extra torque when retrieving. For bass fishing or anything else, I'll use the paddle handle. 2) IMO, for musky fishing again, I prefer a faster retrieve - Musky are fast and you'll never be able to pull a bait faster than a musky can move. It's easier to slow down a retrieve than speed it up. A slower gear ratio can be great if you know you'll be fishing a bait a slower speed and you really want to be able to creep it. 3) the reels are holding up quite well! I've landed a few muskies on them, with some good battles, and they're still performing great!

In reel why they use opinion gear plastic collar and two small gears also plastic materials. Why not using metallic.

This is an inexpensive reel when compared to others in this size. Manufacturers will use plastic where they can get away with it to reduce costs. More expensive options probably have more metallic parts.

@@Paddleheads Thanks, the manufacturer sent me one. FYI, my reel sat on the bottom of some salt flats for about 2.5 hours (long story), took it apart, rinsed it and it appears to still be in fine shape. I took apart the magnetic break and the mechanism seems a bit weak and prone to degradation, but everything else was solid.

Great video, guys. Thanks for making this. Unfortunately, I am unable to remove my spool for some reason. I've taken off the side, but it won't slide out. It's like it's caught on something. Any suggestions?

Hi Peter, if you're using the same reel, there's nothing that can mechanically lock the spool into place besides the plate. If that's removed something on your reel must be obstructing the spool. If your spool is overspooled with line it may be too big to fit through the hole. Does it move at all?
