How to grease/oil a Daiwa Lexa TW reel: DETAILED explanation for BEGINNERS

Hi I cleaned my reel which is the same one as yours. Then I realized there was a small pin left after putting everything back. Can you help to identify where should i put it back?

I hope your "washing" does not damage the ball bearing in the palming side plate, the tiny ball bearing under the driveshaft and the instant anti-reverse. WD-40 will leave a shellac when it evaporates. Rubbing alcohol is a better alternative. Have you found your maximum drag to have decreased? The drag should never be contaminated by gear grease. Only use drag specific grease. Good luck fishing in your adverse environmental conditions.

Hey Henry, thanks a lot for your comment, I appreciate it. Regarding the washing, as mentioned in the video, I know that many people do not agree with that, but these ball bearings already got salt water, so, do you think a bit fresh water will make any damage? Even so, I agree with you that maybe alcohol is a better alternative, I will try that next time. Now, no problems until now with the drag. This reel has almost 30 pound drag, and I never used the maximum becasuse we like to fight the fish, not to drag it, so, to be honest, I cannot feel that difference. Thanks for your time, and again, I appreciate your observations. You are very welcome to come to Costa Rica to fish... :)

I just took one apart and I wanna say yes but I'm not sure what you mean by dual support? There was 2 springs that sit next to it on little posts

@@jnewc4130 dual support means that the pinion gear i supporten by two ballbearings. One on each side of the pionion gear.

@26:05 the washer goes inside the bearing, not outside the handle.

Nope. It sits between the roller bearing and the drive shaft bearing as he installed it. It adds to the belleville stack allowing extra pressure for more drag.
