The only big problem that I can personally see on the figure is just there's way too much purple of a shade I feel is way too bright for this design. I personally like the more muted and darker color scheme of the original SS Shockwave. Though I feel if it weren't only for the paint scheme, I'd say that it looks great.

I actually found some metallic purple paint that matched the SS figure and then lightly brushed some on my copy. It really helps the color pop. Along with adding the DNA kit

Just got this figure and he looks amazing. However there are a few problems with the plastic. The plastic near the hip joints and the back are pliable and bend a bit too much for my liking and could break if you transform it too much. But if you don’t transform it you should be fine.

I was content to keep the original mold, even after customizing it with gunmetal grey and gold. However, after seeing this, I think that this might replace it. My only complaint is that I'm not feeling the overdose of purple, as I did like the subtlety of the original. Still, great figure. I do want to see them tackle SS Lockdown (give him new weapons and fix the arm panel issue), SS TF4 Grimlock (Give him the DNA upgrade kit). SS-49 Bumblebee (make door wings solid plastic), SS Brawl (fix arm panel issue and give him better articulation), SS DOTM Soundwave (give him his guns and make a more screen accurate chest), SS Blackout (more gunmetal grey, give him Grindor's hands, and include the DNA upgrade kit weapons)

Bro even G1 Shockwave wasn't that purple! I hate the color but they did do some nice things to the sculpt it seems. The best possible shockwave seems to be a combo of the original, the DNA kit, and this figure, but due to the insane purple color, parts swapping would look terrible :(

I got this figure and will be putting it away once I get my hands on the Zeus KO. The paint was so disapointing to me. Sure the dry brushing is nice but the whole thing is a bright purple. It just doesn't look good for a movie figure. Maybe their plan was to be more G1 colored with it but that's not what was advertised. A prime example of lazy painting is the entire gun and arm sword being the same purple as everything else on the figure.
