Will #MotorBeamers choose an electric scooter over a petrol powered one? If yes, why?
@menbl29414 жыл бұрын
Nah, Way too overpriced and unreliable. Further, IP ratings cannot be taken into account, coz even the experts say that IP ratings fail over the period of usage. And on top it up, Electricity is produced from Fossil fuel itself, so there's no change in emissions too.

Yup i want clean air voting for electric scooters now.
@an1ketsharma4 жыл бұрын
FUCK YEAS, Silent. Maybe expensive but dont have to worry about the parts much, cuz only thing moving is the battery powered engine and the tires (+some misc things) which traslates to less maintenance costs. Which ultimately brings the overall price down. Battery tech will take time to get mature and at par with daily use but i am ready for the transition and would love to be among the first ones to jumping into this transition.

The era of electric scooters is here. Now with scooters like Chetak and Ather, it makes no sense to buy a petrol scooter for personal use. Electric scooters are cheaper to operate, require very little maintenance and last for a long time. In fact buying a petrol scooter in 2020 is actually stupid.

Faisal Khan, I'm sold on the electric scooter. Your piece has convinced me that an electric scooty is a necessity today - and for my money the Bajaj Chetak Electric is what works for me. Perhaps nostalgia has something to do with it - My first motorised ride (this was 1968) was on my father's Vespa, the precursor to the Chetak.
@anjan89R4 жыл бұрын
Disagree Chetak being more practical than Ather 450. For starters Ather has a bigger under seat storage of 22 liters which can easily hold a full size helmet; 12 inch tyres all around; the ride is also not harsh; lighter making it more maneuverable in city traffic
@VishalYadav-cu8ci4 жыл бұрын
Electric vehicles has to pay 5% gst while petrol vehicles has to pay 28% gst, electric vehicles get huge subsidies for ex.-ather 450 gets 22000 subsidy. There is a difference in road tax RTO of petrol and electric vehicles which vary according to states. For ex- MP charges 8% on ex showroom for RTO for petrol vehicles whereas it's only 4% for electric vehicles. Battery would cost around 50000 in electric vehicles. Even after so much tax exemption and subsidies and benefits electric vehicles can't compete to even 110cc scooter in terms of performance i.e.acceleration and top speed and range and pricing even double and triple to petrol vehicles. Thus India should postpone it's electric vehicle plan and focus on declining automobile sector.
@shubhammodi98344 жыл бұрын
Vishal Yadav see dude today activa 6g is somewhere around 75000-80000 (on road) in market & electric scooter around 110000-115000 (on road) & on that we can save petrol cost which costing around 70-75 rs / litre & zero maintainace & after 7 years we have to change battery & bythat time battery may become cheaper & govt also giving subsidies so I think electric scooter is a good decision

Cost 1,18,000/- Warranty 3 years or 50,000/- An Average common user use this vehicle with out any issue for 4 years.. 1,18,000÷4 years= 29,500/- cost per year. 29,500÷365= 80.82 Rs. Cost per day. On the other hand, Petrol vehicle. ( I have Unicorn 150) My daily driving 30kms Paid cost 86,000. I expected it's life would be more than 10 years but i considered next 9 years already used for 1 year. 86,000÷10= 8600 cost per year 8,600÷365= 23.56/- Every 2,500 kms General servicing cost around 800/- So 2,500÷800= So Re. 1 cost for 3.15 kms riding. Cost per day would be Rs. 10/- Rs. 23.56 + Rs. 10/- = Rs. Rs. 33.56/- Petrol cost- till date I am getting more than 68/- per litre mileage. We do consider over here 60/- per litre. So, my daily ride is 30 and for 2 days it will require 1 litre petrol..!! Per day cost of petrol is Rs. 39/- So, Rs. 39+ Rs. 33.56 = Rs. 72.56 or Rs. Say 75/- Profit= Rs. 80.82- Rs. 75 for next 4 years would be Rs. 8.26 × 365 days × 4 years= Rs. 12000/- So you can invest in good stocks through that savings..!!
@anshuman20894 жыл бұрын
There is fatal flaw in your calculation , you divided the cost electric by 4 years where for the Petrol Vehicle by 10 years, lol. Hats off to your math skill. it should have been 86000/4/365 = 58.90 and now 58.90 + 10 + 39 = 107.9 Now coming to the electric , it has a 3kWh battery so full charge cost lets say 7 Rs / kWh (i.e. 1 Unit), charging full battery 21 Rs Advertised range 95 Km / charge, lets say it gives you 60 Km / charge assuming worst riding habit. Per day cost 10.5 Rs Cost per day 80.82 + 10.5 = 91.32 so Loss = 107.9 - 91.32 = 16.58. So next 4 years you would be losing 16.58 x 365 x 4 = Rs. 24206.8 Special note: EVs have less maintenance cost as there are less moving parts compared to an Petrol / Diesel engine, so you can extrapolate the costs as bad as the petrol bike you have but trust me you will spend less than your petrol bike in maintenance .
@gamerzone56124 жыл бұрын
@@anshuman2089 Anshuman Nayak Bro.. Electric vehicle are capturing market right now.. No one knows it's durability..!! Whereas we are used to with petrol vehicle, I have Splendor Plus using more than 10 years still gives stunning performance but mileage ratio came down to 60+.. and during this life span I incurred excess cost over its regular servicing is just 6,500/- Hence, though it is mentioned in the video 3 years I considered it as 4 years.. it may be 5 years as well.. You can drive your electric vehicle in the city and not on the highway.. Where as petrol vehicle anywhere whereever you want to..!! See I know or rather I would say people know about petrol vehicle are best in all class comparatively electric vehicle. Electric vehicle will definitely bother you in Winter season..!! (Delhi) But petrol vehicle no chance. Infact, I would recommend you go and buy it. And then compare it with your petrol vehicle after 5 years.
@anshuman20894 жыл бұрын
@@gamerzone5612 SO much misinformation my god I don't know from where to start. Durability, well EVs have less moving parts compared to a petrol vehicle. There is just a motor which is a simple, compared to a petrol engine which needs a lot of maintenance and a lot of moving parts inside an engine which can break. You can drive EVs on highway. why not ? No petrol vehicle is best in any category when they are against an EV, period. EVs will not bother you in India's winter condition. People drive EVs in cold countries as Norway without much problem, reduced range due to cold is a small problem as people use more heating. I don't need to buy an EV to compare its performance against a petrol vehicle. There are already hundreds of research done and companies like TESLA which have produced cars in 2012 are still going strong with minimum maintenance, specifically the battery has degraded 5% in 8 years i.e. 5% reduction in range.
@gamerzone56124 жыл бұрын
@@anshuman2089 Brother, first let me clear. Or you didn't understand.. I am not comparing with Tesla EV car vs My Unicorn. I am straight away comparing with Bajaj Ev Chetak vs My Unciorn.
