Miss Lou -- Dr. Louise Bennett Coverley has made a distinguished contribution to the development of Arts and Culture in both in Jamaica and the Caribbean region at large. Through her skillfully penned prose in Jamaican patois, Miss Lou has been able to raise the folk dialect to an art level now accepted and appreciated by all Jamaicans.

I had never heard of this woman before we sang this song in choir and it’s a damn shame. I’m not Jamacian but the pure unadulterated happiness I feel when I hear it makes me cry tears of joy. She brings a type of fun and a love of music and community to her performance that I see in few other people.

She make a tear com in me eye. I had a good friend for many years who came from Jamaica and I miss him so much. I learnt a lot about the culture as a teenager in West London and playing in bands in pubs around the area. I hear this song and I am transported to happier days.

@guyanapoemz You are most welcome. I find our Caribbean culture to be one that is uniquely rich and beautiful with the various patois and flavourful dialects. Simply irresistible and enchanting. I have at least 10 more tracks from Miss Lou (Dr. Louise Bennett) to upload very soon. I hope that you will enjoy those too.
