Its just the fact that the first wife was not enough for him and he married somebody else. When a women marries a man, she dedicates her whole life to a single man. Don't you think she would want her man to be dedicated just to her. When he is her whole world, why does a man require somebody else. That hurt is portrayed so genuinely by Priyanka.

I didn't see Mastani and bajirao's love,i only saw kashi's pain. Especially in the scene where she sees Mastani and bajirao embracing , her expressions where beautiful. There was a huge love between bajirao and mastani but the love of kashi was way stronger than them. Kashi was such a great woman. I heard after bajirao's dead mastani committed suicide . She was so self centered that she only thought about loosing her love she didn't thought how her child would survive without his parents. Thankfully kashi raised her son like her own son. I have watched the film many time but every time after watching kashi's scenes i feel too bad for her. It was common to marry many womam at that time but only a woman who have a mistress know how it feels. They die withing their heart.

In actual history, only 2 people accepted Mastani in Pune, one was ofcourse Bajirao n the other one was Kashi who stood behind him like rock of Jibralter. Bajirao n Kashi were one team in Mastani's matter against Radhabai, Chimaji n Nanasaheb. But Bajirao's love for his family was so much that he could not leave them for Mastani. Finally, he left both Kashi n Mastani ( n also the family) in Pune n moved further to follow only his political duties. He never returned to Pune after that.

Actually i don't know about Akbar's first two wife ruqaia and Salina but Ratan Singh's first wife was a bitch.. in the we don't see much of her but in the original ballad she actually forbids ratan Singh to meet their son untill he promised that he will never enter in padmavati's palace in night ( a way to keep them apart) she also treated her with distain.. Of course we can't know what would be the real scenrio was like .. but actually here we root for kashibai because we see the actual Pain of seeing your loved one go to someone else... One we rarely see , and of course Priyanka's acting

The thing is, more often than we think, we come across many people in our lives that we like or have a crush on; even after we are in serious relationships or marriage. It is totally untrue that we only have that 1 person in the entire world that is meant to be for us. And so there are things like cheating, adultery, divorces and so on. But regardless of stumbling upon those moments where we found a better looking person or better suiting person than our husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend, we still choose to have that morality, that dignity and respect for one another that we stay loyal to ours, that's what's right; not right because the society or the law say so, but because we don't want someone else to do that to us, so why do that on others! The opposite of that morality is celebrated in this movie. I wonder if the tables were turned and Kasibai was the one bringing another man, how would Bajirao take it, or if a third woman stepped in tenaciously in the palace till Bajirao fell for her, how would Mastani take it. If Bajirao and Mastani wouldn't have wanted that to happen to them, there is nothing to celebrate. The disgrace and distress is evident since Kasibai is the one who lost her child, regardless of having all the comfort of a palace not Mastani. Stress is some of the main reasons for miscarriages or unhealthy births. Explains how emotionally painful Kasibai's life was.

@@kttalks8156 yes, i don't deny that being faithful to your spouse and upholding one's marriage is undoubtedly something logical and morally intuitive for most people. however, i can also appreciate the intricate story that this movie successfully depicts - that a love-triangle story may not be as straightforward or linear as what we often perceive it to be. this is because the movie managed to humanise each character through showing their personal struggles and this makes it difficult, at least for me, to pick sides. as much as i think it is unfair for kashi to be cheated on, i think it is equally devastating for mastani to have had to endure a great deal of torment just to be with the one she loves. if bajirao had loved kashi as much as kashi loved him, bajirao wouldnt have fallen for mastani.

But again, we are talking about the era when kings and emperors were allowed to have queens and concubines without having a second thought so I wouldn't be able to relate much with their rationale behind the decision. But relating that to how we would feel now, I have no empathy with Mastani. Bajirao's love was just as deep for Kasibai until he met Mastani and that's funny. We humans are funny. Regardless of the era, one human nature has been consistent: an attraction towards a painful love story. Kasibai was just his wife, already accepted, seen her since his childhood. Mastani was not accepted, not acknowledged, they had to meet rather secretly. That's excitement, pain in love. We humans secretly like to be in such love where there are twists and some pain. It keeps the relationship exciting. Hence the famous saying: love gets boring after marriage. Because responsibilities come around, everyone knows and accepts you now, no villain, no twists, no excitement. Hence the dialogue,"didn't do raasleela with you." Raasleela is making love outside of the societal boundaries. Making love in unusual places is fun than in your master bedroom as a married couple. What I am trying to say is that it has nothing to do with LOVE. Bajirao loved Kasibai just as much until he LOVED Mastani. Mastani knew what she was getting into. She was tenacious right from the beginning and even after Bajirao came back to his home, back to his wife trying to live up to his principles. I honestly can't imagine the pain of Kasibai. I can't imagine how she lived every day. Everyday with such burden only to loose her child later; the last legacy she had left of him when he loved her. That constant stab on her heart but she lived. Lived to raise a child that would remind her of the betrayal. I can't. I honestly didn't think it was their love that was glorified in this movie. It's a low key "open to the interpretation" movie for me.

But she was not treated the same way. Her children was under istimated. Finally they killed her. Everyone talking about how Kashi took care of Mastani's child...! I'd rather say, what if Mastani was alive and take care of her own children?
