God Bless this beautiful strong woman. She has a lot of strength. Most definitely your parents and grandfather's spirit are watching over you. They are smiling down at you and very proud of you. 🙏

I’m so very impressed and excited for her future. I hope she has an heir to teach all she’s learned and to carry on the family business..

OC-Frugal Dad use red grapes unwashed in your first batch that will help. Grapes are always covered in natural yeast.

@@ypcomchic Thanks, I already made my first batch. Next time I will try with red grapes.

You can also just leave a batch of dough outside on a window sill, covered with some cheese cloth, clipped or rubber-banded around the rim of the bowl. The naturally-occuring, airborne, wild yeast will land on the wet flour+water mixture over time and grow that way.... it's slow and old-school, but it works. Mind you though.... if you live 4-5 stories above street/ground level in the city, it probably wouldn't be as easy as compared to living in a single or double-story home, surrounded with bushes and trees, where wild yeast would be more present than city air pollutants. Failing that, you can also grow your starter from IDY (instant dry yeast), and keep feeding it with flour+water after each and every use...... this is the method I use. Not the best, flavor-wise..... but in tough times, it's better than nothing!

A loaf of bread is one of the most inexpensive ways to treat yourself....what is better than bread that is still warm from the oven slathered with butter?

Bread made from active yeast is actually healthy and is better for metabolism.
