Baker's 7 Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon

I'm a fan of Bookers, Bakers and Knob Creek. I like Bakers more as a daily sipper that I can enjoy without getting blown out. I think it is a milder bourbon of the nutty profile options and doesn't jump out of the glass compared to some other brands.

I have the same 8Y7M bottle from 2/14. I wasn't crazy about it at first but stuck with it and am now enjoying it more after being open for about a month. After seeing your video on the Knob Creek 9 Single Barrel Reserve, i need to try that one. Cheers!

JB is one of my favorites. I really like the JB single barrel it’s 108 proof and it’s 38 doll around my area. Knob Creek is also on my shelf. All of these have similar profiles which I like. I don’t hunt allocated bottles because we have these pretty much on the shelves and it’s affordable. Enjoy!!

Had a pour of Bakers 7 from my son-in-law a few months ago and loved it. Then I forgot about it. Today I stopped at a store in Charleston and saw the Bakers 7 on the shelf. Picked it up and gonna crack this evening. Great Expectations...

Thanks for sharing the review, Peter! I’ve had a pour of a Bakers 7, and I’ve always been intrigued with picking up a bottle just have never pulled the trigger. I feel like I should enjoy Beam products more than I do, so that probably holds me back on the Bakers 7. Also…congrats on being so close to 5k subscribers!

Nice pour! I finished my 7yr 2 month and it was a great bottle from start to finish. My first of three 8 yr 10 month bottles was hot and sharp at first but got better as time went on. KC 12yr is really nice and both my KC 18yrs are super nice! Merry Christmas and Cheers!

I had a 8 year 10 month of Bakers 7 earlier this year loved it 😋🥃. And the Bakers 13 is also a Single Barrel too. Bakers 7 is by far my fav Jim Beam product I also love Clermont Steep and Knob Creek 9 Year.

I really enjoy the Beam products. In my first year I’ve managed to get 10 Booker’s, 4 KC 12yr, 3 KC 18yr, 1 Legent, 1 Little Book #7, 3 KC store picks, 1 KC rye, 1 KC 1/4 oak, 4 Baker’s 7, 1 Hardin’s Creek Clermont, and 1 KC 9yr so I guess I’m a Beam fanboy:)

I just bought a bottle of Bakers today.. the 1st store I found a bottle that was 7 & 4 months for $50, the 2nd store had a 8 & 7 months and 2 bottles that were hiding in the back at 8 & 11 months for $65.. I grabbed the 8 & 11 months😊 that’s the oldest I’ve seen in person or on KZbin videos

that is very close to my experience. typicaly I do not pick up smoke or barrel char but this one has so much it overwhelms the back end flavors.. its a good sipper but not a daily sipper.. good for people that want a different experience .. I still like something under 35$ for a sipper or mixer.. this one is for special days.

Have you tried the new Jim Beam Black 7 year old yet? If not I'd recommend it. It's a baby Baker's and is under $30.

If it's of any interest, the name Beam originally came from the Böhm family, who emigrated from Germany and settled in Kentucky. Johannes Böhm became Jim Beam and sold his first batch of corn whisky towards the end of the 18th century. The Baker's 13 is a limited edition single barrel, also at 107 proof. I prefer Wild Turkey over Jim Beam products.

​@@whiskeyisajourney New Riff, it's good. You can keep enjoying it. Not to much over spice. It does come in in the beginning but then it's subtle with a citrus, bourbon finish. This New Riff, got me to appreciate its Rye + Bourbon. You will enjoy it.

I have a 8yr 8mos and based on your scale I would give it a 2/5. I am not very forgiving and out of the 44 bourbon/whiskeys I've opened the past two months it's about 32nd on the list.

Bakers is a favorite of mine, more consistent than Bookers (I'm done with Bookers). I definitely hunt the older age statement bottles and dont pass them up if i find them.
