Thanks for your vegan food eaters in Tokyo. I'm going there in spring and seeing your reviews is way better than just reading Happy Cow reviews. For what it's worth, I never trust Google reviews when it comes to vegan places to eat, you'd be surprised just how many meat eaters enter comments. They're coming at it from a different direction. Peas & love❤

I'm not vegan or even vegetarian, but these foods look really good, so I'd definitely try some of it if having the chance to visit Japan. I really hate fish and don't even want to eat anything with fish components in it if I can help it, so at least sometimes, a vegan or vegetarian option could be more suitable for me in Japan. My absolute favorite sushi for example is the kind with tofu skin around the rice. In my case it could also be interesting to compare a regular fruit sando with a vegan version. One of my favorite Asian desserts is actually shaved ice with red bean paste. Being Swedish, it did catch me a little bit off guard the first time I had it while in China, I just wasn't used to beans being sweet, but I really enjoyed it and it became a dessert I ordered more than once during my stays in China. I was vegetarian for some time little over 20 years ago, but it just wasn't working out for my body at all. I wasn't feeling well on a vegetarian diet even with me being lacto ovo vegetarian. I just wasn't getting enough protein (that my body could utilize- I do have some issues with absorbing nutrients through just food, so have managed the feat of getting B12 deficiency on an omnivore diet while also taking vitamin supplement, and right now I'm dealing with potassium deficiency... Yay...) so yeah, for health reasons I can't do vegan or vegetarian diet full time, but that said, I do opt for vegetarian options from time to time either for single meals or for a day or so.

That vegan food is really expensive. You can get normal ramen for 500 yen. The vegan is double, or in some cases even more than double of that price. Also its written in english there, so its probably considered mainly for foreigners

I will have diarrhea tomorrow I bet. Probably not during my first poop, but usually my last poops before I go running are more in that direction. I love you. Thank you for featuring vegan content. I'm not totally vegan (still eat yogurt sometimes), but we should all be vegan, or maybe have some dairy IF we actually nurtured cows in a biodiverse garden and pampered them with magical medicines, etc.. but nobody is doing that yet so we should all be vegan. Animal slavery is a TERRIBLE fall from where we should and could be. People are operating in a sick world and I get that, but how do we get people to awaken to the "magical" gardener-stewardship we were made for ???🍄 maybe there is nothing to do. I don't know, but mushrooms were integral catalysts in learning what I would describe as the blueprints for cultivating "Edens". I don't know if making sure humanity keeps eating meat is serving someone (parasites for sure), but I do know that we've been lied to about the most controversial and medicinal, often illegal, plants, and that if people learned to grow and use them, they would be more like the super-powered human beings we dream of and make movies about and shit, or at least discover greater health and ability to function. Opium poppies are a big one - a plant given to humanity by the forces that created us, for our ability to take things even further, potentially in very beautiful and positive ways. Meanwhile the pharmaceutical industries extracted individual alkaloids from said-plant, stripping the original food/medicine of its full-spectrum symphony, and even further manipulating those alkaloids into modern derivatives, more dangerous and problematic, while holding exclusive rights to profit off of frankenstein'd forms of a medicinal plant we should all have access to. I shouldn't have to rant and rave, and certainly not on KZbin channels of my fellow brothers and sisters (in this case sister 😘), about this shit, but I sit isolated in my parents' house wondering when humanity at large will overcome the systems that have us pinned, and claim our birthright of good possibilities on this planet.
