I'm away at college (uni) and my winter break doesn't start until after Chanukah so I was sad I'd be missing it at home. But my mom surprised me with a package of candy (chocolate maccabees!) and a card full of chanukah dogs (macabeagle, goldman retriever) and it's amazing! I also am so happy about these videos because I can still celebrate it in a way even though I'm not home!💙❤️

I feel like you were using the cookie cutters wrong? Like you roll out cookie dough and press the cookie cutters in and then peel that shape out as your cookie - rather than trying to shove the cookie dough into the cookie cutter? And then keep rolling out the dough and cutting out more shapes until you've used all the dough. Did Nigella instruct you differently?

The reason that eggs should be kept in the fridge only depends on your countries regulations some country process their eggs in a way that takes off the protective layer of the eggs which makes them very porous and absorbs things easily which is why they shouldn't be in the fridge but if the country processes them in a way that keeps the protective layer on then you should keep them in the fridge because the protective layer is an animal product and can go bad hence keeping them in the fridge. The easiest way to tell how your country processes them is see where your supermarket keeps them. So just follow what your supermarket does to store them the best.

I'm no Jew, but Jewish festivals are such lovely things. As for the no meat/cheese mix, see also the following verses: 1. Exodus 23:19: “Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of the Lord your God. Do not cook a young goat in its mother’s milk." 2. Exodus 34:26 (which is the same as the above, almost word for word) 3. Deuteronomy 14:21: "Do not eat anything you find already dead. You may give it to the foreigner residing in any of your towns, and they may eat it, or you may sell it to any other foreigner. But you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Do not cook a young goat in its mother’s milk." Now, that is rather specific to goats. However, during the Maccabean era (and early Roman era), the habit of "building a hedge around the law" developed among the Jewish lawyers, in efforts to prevent even an accidental breach of the Mosaic laws. So the prohibition on cooking a kid (that is, a young goat) in its mother's milk became a generalized prohibition not only of serving meat and dairy in the same dish, but even serving meat and dairy at the same meal lest the elements combine in one's stomach. Thus, cheeseburgers are definitely not kosher. I'm not Jewish myself, but I have Jewish family.

the way you could have fixed the cookies were to add flour. 😂 i recently had the same issue with soft serve ginger bread cookies. Smaller shapes and more flour worked for me.
