A long, long time ago when I was a blushing bride to be my mum made my wedding cake. An old family tradition. Three tiers of boozey dark fruit cake covered in marzipan and royal icing with all the traditional decorations and topping. If only I could get hold of a handy dandy TARDIS. I'd steal the SORTED cake and swap it for the heavy, "so preserved in large amounts of alcohol you could have the top tier for the first born's christening tea", cake. Seriously, at the time I was worried that the cake might put some driving guests over the legal limit just by nibbling on a little piece.
