Many traditional dishes her are also easily transformed into vegan, just by swapping one ingredient or the fat used. Sometimes the only animal ingredient is a spread of grated cheese, which can be easily left out or replaced with toasted and spiced breadcrumbs.

It's funny because Italy's traditional cusine is very much vegetarian and vegan, since meat and cheese were much more expensive to have they were reserved for special occasions

I love what you do! You have to try Vegan Vietnamese food. The first and fifteenth day of the lunar month and during Buddhas birthday, a lot of people eat Vegan. They offer vegan food everywhere on those days. For example, there is a cousin of beef soup Bún Bò Huế called Bún chay. I had some of the best vegan food in my life in Vietnam. They make a very meaty salad out of a local variety of figs called Vả Trộn which is shredded and very reminiscent of tuna or fish. Unfortunately not many people in the west know about the diverse vegan hidden gems in Vietnam, especially Huế. Edit: It’s the lunar month, which is 29/30 days. Sorry for the confusion!

Great to see how delicious traditional food connected to scientific knowledge of blending of ingredients for better nutrition, I mean serving beans with tomato sauce 🍅 helps the body absorb the iron (non M) from the beans… beans are a fabulous source of iron but absorbing it only in presence of vitamin C. In Brazil, their most traditional bean dishes is served with a salad of oranges 🍊and tomato salsa. About going around to other countries, try less obvious countries, Bolivia, Peru, Equador, Colombia and Brazil to showcase the amazing traditional foods of the Andes and the Amazon people… at this stage Mexico is quite obvious and repetitive…
@BakingHermannКүн бұрын
So true, science is always catching up, yet these dishes seemed to have evolved with an innate understanding of what our bodies need. Thanks for the tips!

Please visit the island of Mallorca. Vegan dishes - there are many from the simple pamboli amb tomate ramillette; lentejas españolas, sopa de garbanzos, croquetas de acelgas, cocas de pimienta, cocarois, sopas mallirquinas etc. Like in Tuscany they use fat of pork but in the homes of locals and in small restaurants they don't use fat of pork.

For what it’s worth, I’m not vegan. Nonetheless, I’m delighted to have found this channel. Every culture (except maybe the Mongols?) has traditional plant-based food, and, having stood the test of time, it’s liable to be better than the sort of stuff that a bunch of stoned hippies come up with when they got the munchies. Also, you’ve got what the kids call “rizz” and the production values in this video are top notch. I’m looking forward to watching what else you’ve posted, and what you’re going to post. As a side note, would it really hurt the Tuscans to put a pinch of salt in their bread?
