The latest big surprise in showbiz is recording artist Tiana Kocher, daughter of Katrina Ponce Enrile and granddaughter of the venerable Juan Ponce Enrile. After making her mark in the American music scene, Tiana showcased her talent at promote her latest composition, “Slow It Down”. “I am trying to make it abroad for the Philippines,” said Tiana, who’s definitely a chip off the old block of the showbiz family of artists which includes her cousins Cris Villonco, Rafa Siguion-Reyna, her grand aunts Armida Siguion Reyna and Irma Potenciano.
She also gave insights on her dynamics with her mom, who encouraged her foray into music, her grandmother Cristina Ponce Enrile and her old world charm and discipline and of course her lolo JPE, who advised her to be wise and work with the right people. At one point, Tiana burst into tears meeting her fans for the first time. “Thanks so much,” she told the group who cheered her with gusto. “You don’t have this in the US where the market is extremely saturated. This is all new to me , this is rare because I am a struggling independent artist in the US and not signed up with any label. “
Among the highlights of her achievements is her debut single release, ‘Just My Type’, hit the Top40 Indie Chart followed by ‘Paint the Town’ and ‘Swing Batter’, which appeared in the Cîroc commercial for the motion picture ‘What Men Want’. Her record ‘U Tried It’, released October 2019, was produced by four-time GRAMMY nominated record producer RoccStar and has reached hundreds of thousands streams to date. In April 2020 Tiana teamed up with social media giant TikTok during COVID-19, to create a 30-day charity and community driven contest, where people would dance to her single ‘Don’t Trip’. Tiana wants to do more work in the Philippines, including guestings, collaborations and singing in Tagalog.
