This anime confuses me bro. Like I get he now accepts himself and is so so so inspired and cares for Deku. We see his regrets through the AM vestige scene. But he got targeted and KILLED? because he was “the closest to Izuku Midoriya?” He didn’t get killed cause he was strong? Or that he is a hero? And not only that, it’s cause his corpse wanted to be a PRESENT for Deku to make him lose complete control of his body…. And then Bakugou is thinking about “Izuku” the entire time knowing he’s about to die, “gotta win” plus-ultra-ing his ass, and before he dies, it’s revealed he’s thinking of his childhood memory of Deku & pulls out a MOMENTO of the AM card they got together…. Like i don’t get what Horikoshi is writing here. It doesn’t make sense to me.

@@Rensuke_Hero-gami I don’t know man… I get Deku cares a lot about him and now he cares about Deku a lot too. But even as childhood friends, it seems too close… “Closest to Midoriya Izuku” Like even before his apology, he made Deku lose it because he was stabbed by pushing him out of the way. I get Bakugou, I really do, he is someone who at his heart, a nerd, and sensitive soul like Deku but unlike him, his insecurities created a shell and led him to bully him. Strip away that shell, and well, you get him here. I’m more confused about their relationship and how it’s written. I just don’t get why Bakugou gets the narrative roles that he does.

I’m confused why he’s getting certain narrative roles (in relation to Deku) that I thought would go to other characters but I get surprised that they all go to Bakugou… Just as an example in this case, he gets “the closest” trope which was noticed and used against Deku and hell, this observation of Deku going crazy when Bakugou was hurt was even BEFORE he apologized… I’m trying to figure out what Horikoshi is trying to say about them; talking to your “childhood friend” as you’re dying when he isn’t even there…that level of (for lack of better word) yearning is ….

​​​@@hellonyancat666realistically speaking, bakugo is indeed the closest person to izuku. hes known him since childhood, has seen (and was the reason for) many of izuku's hardships, and was the first person that izuku trusted with information about OFA. regardless of your interpretation of their relationship (platonic, rivals, enemies, etc.) there is a certain closeness that they share because of their history. conflict and struggle makes way for growth and intimacy with a person in ways that allow you to explore parts of yourself and others that otherwise wouldn't be easy to recognize. izuku has even illustrated this when he talks about the fact that, even though he wants to be a hero to save people, when hes fighting to win, he can't help but imitate bakugo. these things combined with the fact that they have recently grown to be better friends and have mutual respect for each other now only deepens their bonds. bakugo may not be izuku's BEST friend (iida, todoroki, whoever else), but hes definitely the person who has the closest relationship with him.

I don't think Bakugo cried tho, someone mentioned it, it's a different color from tears/sweat, and it's explained later that the substance (necessary to the explosion) leaked from all his body instead of just his hands.
