Umm, small correction on the Zorc section... Bakura wasn't the one using the double hit technique, Yugi did. Bakura used a different "run of criticals" trick that was in the same "class" but was never explained on how it worked... after Yami Yugi shoed his knowledge of the "double hit", Bakura made a new rule to ban either of them from any fancy dice rolling tricks (and then started to use the brainwashed dice). Big props for pointing out that the card was based off of the Monster World version though, as opposed to the memory world version... I think a lot of people miss that since Monster world was from the manga, making it a lot less known then anything that got to appear in the anime.

Bakura has always been my favorite character and duelist from Duel Monster due to how unorthodox and fascinating his strategies were. Although a little risky and convoluted, they were refreshingly creative and fun to follow, in contrast with the more straight and generic "big beatstick that punches hard" approach. He was the one that showed me the game's mechanics potential and flexibility, lighting my love for weird, janky strategies and plays; something that I'd still hold dear to this day. I also like him as a character, he's practically the mastermind behind most, if not all of the events of DM story and is heavily involved in the plot, despite looking like just another threat for a good deal of DM's story, just to keep getting more and more relevant through the course of the event and finally being revealed to be not just another threat, but THE primary threat and how everything he has been doing from the start of the series was premeditated and lead to that final RPG-like duel between him and Atem, making all the pieces fall into place; it's brilliant. Also, he's a kind of simple villain: He's wicked to the core. No sad story, no noble intentions or saviour-like ideals behind his plans. He just wants to see the world burn for the sake of seeing it burn and I love that.

As amazing of a character Yami Bakura was, I wish we got to see more of Ryo proper. Even most of the cards on this list, given their twisted and occult nature, are tied to the Bandit King himself, that it feels like we hardly know the true Ryo’s playstyle. I am genuinely shocked we've never had a Zorc Retrain. Especially since he appears basically retrained in the show??? And how beloved Bakura is as a villain? Dang

Dark Bakura is heavily underestimated due to his losses. He only needed to defeat Atem once. If he could claim the Millennium Puzzle, he would be mere inches away from inciting doomsday. On top of that, he was ruthless and deadly. He was terrifying during his duel with Ghost Kotsuzuka. This is one of those scenarios where the Anime surpassed the Manga. In the Manga, his win was off-panel, and it's hard to tell if Kotsuzuka is dead or knocked out. Whereas in the Anime, he sent Kotsuzuka, Satake and Takaido to Hell.

Exchange is a sick card. The cool thing right now is that there's a lot of generic cards that help every deck. And in most cases, your opponent won't run bad cards for you to take. So it's never actually THAT bad, but it's still a risk nonetheless.

In the anime, spell and trap removal on monster effects was pretty rare, but those monsters did exist. I wonder if in universe those cards are rare runs which have a limited supply. This would explain why Destiny Board is so scary, even looking at later eras monster-based backrow removal was rare and while the staples did exist in the characters' decks in 5Ds, I get the impression they run 1 copy a piece by the main characters and other characters don't even have any copies. Also in the manga, the reason it spelled death is that instead of making its controller win the duel, it makes the opponent die. I assume that means the controller wins as the opponent loses by forfeit.

The monster world rpg arc is so underrated chapter that deserve a anime movie.

My favorite change of heart strategy was using it to take an opponents monster, and sacrificing it to bring out a chonker.

Pegasus and Bandit Keith are the only ones I can think of that played any number of notable times that you haven't done. I guess Weevil as well.
